The November 18 edition of WWE NXT emanated from the Theatre in Madison Square Garden, New York. For two weeks, it’s Gold Rush time in NXT. Not only NXT, but TNA, AAA, EVOLVE, and Speed titles will be defended.
As told in the preview, four Championship matches are set, one AAA and three NXT. Next week, a TNA title, the 2 EVOLVE, and the Women’s Speed one will be on the card. Because TNA is involved, let’s Nygma dive into what happened last night.
You Shouldn’t Believe
Joe Hendry and Thea Hail challenged All Ego Ethan Page and Chelsea Green for the AAA Mixed Tag Team Titles. When Hail locked Green in the Kimura Lock, Page had the awareness to throw Hendry into their partners to break the painful maneuver. This opened up Green to hit Hail with the Unpretty-Her, allowing the nefarious pair to pick up the pin and retain the gold.
The match was good, but it was probably a bit too early for Hendry and Hail to win. With Hendry now bound to WWE, despite still being a TNA guy till the end of the year, NXT can take the time to try to give him some Championship potential, the same way TNA did. That won’t make the Nygma believe in him, nor in Hail, but I wish Hendry good luck in this new adventure.
Ava’s Iron Survivor Challenge Announcement
NXT Deadline is back on December 6, live from San Antonio, TX. The return of Deadline also means the return of the Iron Survivor Challenge, the 25-minute match, where every second counts. NXT General Manager Ava announced that, this year, it’s not Legends who will select the competitors, but one Legend. John Cena will pick every male and female contender.
Tavion Heights and Josh Briggs Brawl in the building
Tavion Heights said he couldn’t imagine John Cena not picking him up for the Iron Survivor Challenge. Josh Briggs seemed to disagree as he attacked him in the concourses. Security struggled to separate them. They might have brawled all over the city if not. Later, Josh Briggs would put Tavion Heights through a table.
A “Blake & Black” Win
Sol Ruca was really on her way to defeat Blake Monroe, despite her still injured knee, but the “Black Monroe” alter ego had another plan. After Monroe ripped off Sol Ruca’s leg brace and locked in an excruciating submission on her tough opponent’s still injured left knee, Zaria was left no choice but to throw in the towel to hand Monroe a successful NXT Women’s North American Championship defense.
The end of ZaRuca is coming. Over the last few weeks, Zaria has cost her friend the North American title twice. May Sol Ruca be the kindest person on the planet; that’s a bit too much to forgive. When it comes to Blake Monroe, the character’s duality between The Glamour and The Darkness is really fascinating to watch.
No!
Not like this!

Oba Femi demands a rematch for the title against Ricky Saints at NXT Deadline
After what happened last week on NXT and in Chicago this weekend, it came as no surprise to see Oba Femi make his way to the ring. Ricky Saints made it clear, “Don’t get it twisted into thinking that you’re going to go ahead and take the NXT Title from me.” Unlike Saints, Femi said he refused to get involved in the “NXT vs TNA nonsense.”
He trained, went to the motherland, and is now back to destroy Saints. “Your daddy is home!” In the end, Ricky Saints had no choice but to give him a rematch at NXT Deadline.
Trick Williams came to talk about Trick Williams becoming the NXT World Champion until Myles Borne smashed a chair on his back. Borne said he heard him. He will be the Iron Survivor winner and face Saints or Femi at NXT New Year’s Evil.
The Numbers Game
TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans were not facing the team of DarkState, but the entire faction. The action was fast and furious as Slater and Evans dazzled with their innovative offense. But it didn’t take long before DarkState used the numbers game to their advantage.
When Evans accidentally splashed down onto his partner, Dion Lennox and Osiris Griffin hit the Doomsday Device to vanquish their challengers and successfully defend the NXT Tag Team Titles. The action was just insane, the results a bit too predictable.
It's a bird!
It's a plane!

Izzi Dame gives the title back to Jacy Jayne
After a WWE LFG Season 2 winner vignette, what had to happen happened. Since Tatum Paxley won the NXT Women’s Championship, we could see in Izzi Dame’s eyes how bored she was. The Culling had had enough of Paxley’s temper tantrums. If rolling a wheel is funnier than defending a title, then yes, it had to stop.
Jayne and Paxley did a good bout, with Fatal Influence and The Culling not too far. After Izzi Dame and The Culling attacked outside the ring, Jacy Jayne overcame the rocked titleholder with Rolling Encore to once again lay claim to the NXT Women’s Championship. Is Izzi Dame that despicable? I don’t think so.
WHAT JUST HAPPENED?!?

Nygma Says
The action was good, nothing to say about that. Then, no surprise at all, nowhere. DarkState playing the number games, The Culling betraying Tatum Paxley, Oba Femi and Ricky Saints’ rematch, or the upcoming end of ZaRuca, everything has been written to happen for weeks now. The only big surprise is John Cena picking up the Iron Survivor participants.
Let’s hope Night Two will be spicier. I’ll see you next week as I keep on exploring the NXT world through the NXTNA “cold war.” Till then, may the Nygma be with you.
