The Cenation knew that his retirement was coming, but few are ready to see John Cena ride off to the sunset on December 13 at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Only three appearances remain in his farewell tour, and “The Last Time is Now” Tournament has begun to determine Cena’s final opponent.
As overwhelming as this final chapter will be for the Cenation, there are several happy memories to revisit during this farewell tour. Over the last 12 months, Cena has stayed true to his promise and laid everything on the line in the squared circle. During this time, he has achieved five incredible milestones that have further cemented his legacy as “The Greatest of All Time.”
5. Tied for Most Elimination Chamber Wins
The Leader of the Cenation stepped inside the Elimination Chamber for the final time in Toronto. John Cena was the runner-up in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match, and this was his final chance to book his ticket to a World Championship match at WrestleMania 41.
The Champ was up against a stacked all-star field featuring CM Punk, Seth “Freakin” Rollins, Logan Paul, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest. Cena’s methods of winning were questionable as he capitalized on a fallen Punk, who had just been stomped into oblivion by Rollins. He locked in the STF on Punk to win the match and secure his ticket to a Mania title showdown against Cody Rhodes.
However, it was the aftermath that had everyone talking. In what many have called the most shocking heel turn in WWE history, John Cena sold his soul to The Rock, the Final Boss, and brutally assaulted Cody Rhodes. After more than two decades, The Champ had finally embraced the dark side.
Nonetheless, despite questionable tactics and a shocking aftermath, Cena accomplished an important milestone at Elimination Chamber 2025 as he tied Triple H for most wins inside the Chamber with four victories.
