Kenny Omega versus Eddie Guerrero
Eddie Guerrero was a workhorse. He could bring bloody brawls to JBL, withstand the monstrosity of Brock Lesnar, and tussle in parking lots with John Cena. Against Omega, who has utterly transformed professional wrestling, I’d imagine that Eddie Guerro would’ve had a classic. Emotionally transcendent.
A simple match between the two could tell the story needed without any fluff heading into it. Two of wrestling’s big names are battling it out for the bragging rights of the best of the best. Guerrero’s goal of proving he could still hang with even the industry’s freshest stars is ample reason for him. Kenny, meanwhile, seeks to add a name of such a monumental landmark of the industry to his belt.
What entices me is the creativity the two would indulge in. The pair would likely call back to Eddie’s Black Tiger days. They’d pay tribute to the cruiserweights that paved the way for wrestlers like Kenny. The story of how Eddie would try to escape Omega’s fearsome One-Winged Angel immediately comes to mind. Omega’s an imaginative wrestler, always keen to make matches look different from others while calling back to specific moments. Eddie knew how to subvert expectations and slip into any role.
