At Crown Jewel, Seth Rollins faced Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match. During the bout, Rollins delivered a diving headbutt while Rhodes was hanging upside down in the corner, a high-risk move that reportedly caused a serious shoulder injury requiring surgery.
Despite the damage, Rollins fought through the pain and managed to win. However, his condition worsened afterward, leading WWE to write him off television when his Vision stable members, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, attacked him on Raw. The segment served as a storyline explanation for his time away to recover.
On the following episode of Raw, General Manager Adam Pearce announced that the World Heavyweight Championship had been vacated. CM Punk and Jey Uso are now set to face each other in a title match at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, with the winner crowned the new champion.

Seth Rollins Addresses His Recovery
Appearing as a sling-wearing guest host on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football, Rollins discussed the setback and admitted that being forced to step away from his championship run was a major disappointment. He said he is not happy sitting on the sidelines and watching someone else hold the title, but he remains focused on his rehabilitation and plans to come back stronger once he is cleared by doctors.
In the meantime, Rollins continues his guest appearances and stays a proud supporter of the Chicago Bears. Fans remain hopeful that once his six-month recovery is complete, “The Visionary” will return in top form to make another run at championship gold.
