WWE NXT Results (10/14/25) – Tatum Paxley is the New NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contender

The October 14 edition of WWE NXT emanated from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL. The NXT Showdown fallout show was also a TNA Bound For Glory one, as NXT was involved in a few TNA Championship matches. But NXT is now on the road to Halloween Havoc, on October 25, so we can expect some PLE matches to emerge from the episode.

Four matches were advertised for this week’s NXT episode, including the return of Matt Cardona to WWE and an interbrand Battle Royal to determine the new #1 contender for the NXT Women’s Championship (I have to say the episode was taped last week, as Jacy Jayne got injured a few days ago, and Xia Brookside was not at TNA Bound For Glory due to illness). Because TNA is involved, let’s Nygma dive into what happened last night.

Ricky Saints Has Something to Say

Saints said, when his back is against the wall, he’ll fight for himself and the fans, while Trick Williams folds under pressure when things get tough. Williams abandoned “NXT” when it got too hard for him. Saints said he won’t be waiting for a new Number One Contender to emerge and challenged Williams to an NXT Championship match at Halloween Havoc.

Williams appeared on screen and said his” size 15 shoes” are too big for Saints to fill. While Saints waited his whole life to get where he is now, he’s a VIP and didn’t have to work for it. Saints says he should’ve expected Williams not to come to the ring to face him like a man, then added he’ll show Williams why he’s “Absolute“.

Matt Cardona is back, but fails

Five years after his last WWE match, Cardona came to NXT to face The Man of Mayhem. The towering Josh Briggs was all over Cardona, even mocking the former WWE Superstar with his signature chant, but Cardona fired back with a counter and a huge dive over the top rope. Cardona even hit Radio Silence after Briggs’ chain was confiscated, but The Man of Mayhem rallied and managed to hit a massive match-ending Big Boot.

AAA’s El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. wins twice

Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. electrified the NXT Universe with a dazzling win over Lexis King. After the match, NXT North American Champion Ethan Page appeared, prompting Wagner Jr. to challenge him to a Day of the Dead Match at Halloween Havoc.

Zaria lost twice

Before her match against Blake Monroe, Zaria told Sol Ruca not to be at ringside. Zaria was her usual, dominant self, using her incredible power to keep the dangerous Monroe off of her game. The Glamour introduced a steel chair and was prepared to use it, but Ruca ripped it away from her.

Amidst the chaos, Monroe jabbed Zaria with a hairpin before hitting Beauty Shot for the win. Blake Monroe sent a clear message to NXT Women’s North American Champion and Women’s Speed Champion Sol Ruca.

OTM returns and destroys The Culling, Chase U, and Hank & Tank

The Triple Threat Tag Team Match between Chase U, The Culling, and former NXT Tag Team Champions Hank & Tank was interrupted by a returning OTM. All three teams were looking to gain momentum in the NXT tag team scene when Bronco Nima and Lucien Price demolished the entire field.

Tatum Paxley is the new NXT Women’s Championship #1 contender

TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan, TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions The IInspiration, Mara Sadè, the Angel Warriors, Victoria Crawford, and Heather By Elegance were among the competitors in the 20-Woman Over the Top Rope Battle Royal to determine Jacy Jayne’s challenger for the NXT Women’s Championship at Halloween Havoc.

Following their verbal confrontation earlier in the day, Grace eventually eliminated the TNA Knockouts World Champion to secure her spot in the final four. The field whittled down to Paxley, Jordynne Grace, and Izzi Dame, but Dame’s clothesline backfired and sent both her and The Juggernaut tumbling over the top rope, giving Paxley maybe the biggest win in her career.

After the match, Jacy Jayne appeared on the entrance ramp alongside Fallon Henley and Fatal Influence’s newest member, Lainey Reid, to stare down Paxley and hold up her NXT Women’s Championship belt. Lyra Valkyria then joined Paxley in the ring to celebrate Paxley’s win.

Meanwhile, backstage…

• “What Darkstate did was a shot at us,” The Hardys told Je’Von Evans and TNA X-Division Champion Leon Slater after Darkstate ruined their match at Bound For Glory. The Hardys will face DarkState in a NXT Tag Team title rematch at Halloween Havoc. They promised to avenge Slater and Evans.
• Lainey Reid is the new member of Fatal Influence.
• Leon Slater and Je’Von Evans wanted a match against Darkstate. Arianna Grace influenced NXT General Manager Ava and TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella to make a TNA X-Division title match between her boyfriend, Stacks, and Slater.
• Trick Williams attacked Ricky Saints. Contract signing for their NXT Championship match next week.
• DarkState attacked The Hardys.
• The Men’s Speed Tournament will feature TNA Wrestling star Zachary Wentz as he battles Jasper Troy next Tuesday in hopes of securing a WWE Men’s Speed Championship opportunity against El Grande Americano.

Wrestling-wise, I have nothing to say. Good episode. But TNA-wise, I’m furious. This episode was taped last week, which means the fate of the TNA X-Division Championship match was already sealed even before the bout happened. I will come back to that in a special piece, as the X-Division is TNA’s DNA.
