WWE NXT Tag Teams to Face The Hardy Boyz

Matt and Jeff Hardy made history on NXT Showdown this week as they are now the first to hold the NXT and TNA Tag Team Championships simultaneously. They defeated DarkState for the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships and picked up the win for the TNA brand.

Now that The Hardy Boys hold the NXT Championships, hopefully, that means they will be defending the titles against more NXT tag teams. This opens up lots of opportunities for the upcoming NXT roster to face these wrestling legends.

Who from NXT should step up to The Hardy Boyz for the NXT and possibly TNA Tag Team Championships? It was recently announced that we will see The Dudley Boyz face The Hardy Boyz at TNA Bound for Glory for both the NXT and TNA Tag Team Championships. What other opponents will they get if they win?

The Culling (Shawn Spears and Niko Vance)

The Culling has been a strong force in NXT since its formation earlier this year. The faction currently consists of Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame, and Tatum Paxley.

Dame and Paxley recently had a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at NXT Homecoming, but unfortunately couldn’t bring the gold to NXT. However, can Spears and Vance accomplish this?

The Culling seems to be one of the most stable tag teams in the NXT brand. Many of the tag teams haven’t been together long or don’t seem as legitimate. Even though The Culling has been together for less than a year, they have made their presence known on NXT.

They have come close to getting the NXT Tag Team Championships, but do they have another opportunity coming their way with these new champions?

Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes)

Swipe Right is a tag team on WWE Evolve, consisting of Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes. They have had matches on NXT at various points and have consistently proven themselves, showing improvement.

While a match against The Hardy Boyz for the NXT and TNA Tag Team Championships may be a quick jump for them. However, this would really let Swipe Right showcase its talent and could learn from competing against veterans.

The two are incredibly charismatic and could create a great story and match against The Hardy Boys, whether they win or lose. They may not be everyone’s first thought when thinking of opponents for Matt and Jeff Hardy, but they will be able to shock and impress the audience. The fans would be entertained, and that would be a job well done.

Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin)

The Motor City Machine Guns are on the main roster, but lately, the WWE has been featuring some talent from NXT. When Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin debuted, they went straight to the main roster and skipped over NXT. They have only made brief appearances on the brand.

Shelley and Sabin have also had previous runs with TNA, including a stint as TNA Tag Team Champions in 2010. Having another chance at the TNA Tag Team Championships while they are in WWE seems like a full-circle moment.

Despite being involved in some of the same companies, there has never been a match between Motor City Machine Guns and The Hardy Boyz. With or without titles on the line, that is a dream match for fans. They are all veterans with phenomenal in-ring ability, which is why they have gained the status that they have in the wrestling world.

A match between these two teams is one that fans are eagerly awaiting. Who do you think would walk away with the NXT and TNA Championships? Who else would you like to see face Matt and Jeff Hardy?
