Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins Set for WWE Crown Jewel 2025 in Australia

WWE has already confirmed the first match for next month’s WWE Crown Jewel event. The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins in a battle to see who will win the men’s WWE Crown Jewel Champion for 2025. It was made official during the WWE Wrestlepalooza post-show.

Rhodes and Rollins Face Off

The confrontation sparked when Rollins interrupted Cody Rhodes in the post-event interview. The two wrestlers stared each other down, but it took WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Leveske to declare the blockbuster match official later in the night. These two have a ton of history, with Rollins being Cody Rhodes’ first opponent at WrestleMania 38, when he came back to WWE. They also have the legendary Hell in a Cell Match that saw Seth and Cody batter each other, with the latter sporting a nasty pectoral injury, leading to his chest turning purple.

Background of the Crown Jewel Championship

The WWE Crown Jewel Championship was introduced in the 2024 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Cody Rhodes was the first man to be a champion, defeating Gunther, and Liv Morgan defeated Nia Jax to become the first female champion. The two competitors received huge championship belts made of jewels. WWE announced then that the titles would be on display at the WWE Experience in Riyadh.

While not official, it’s understood that the current world champions before Crown Jewel events will duke it out to see who’ll walk away as the namesake champions.

Potential Female Championship Victory

Commentator Michael Cole hinted at another possible Crown Jewel match during the Wrestlepalooza broadcast. Should Tiffany Stratton successfully defend the WWE Women’s Championship this week on SmackDown, she will go ahead to challenge the newly crowned Women’s World Champion, Stephanie Vaquer, at the event for the Women’s WWE Crown Jewel Championship. WWE Crown Jewel this year will be on October 11, 2025, in Perth, Australia, as the country hosts this event for the first time.

Final Thoughts

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel 2025 has all the makings of another historic encounter between the two. While both men are riding high as the top champions on their respective shows, they also have the opportunity to cement their legacies further and boast rights on one of the biggest international stages of WWE.

Combined with the speculation that we may have Tiffany Stratton and Stephanie Vaquer fighting it out for the WWE Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, WWE Crown Jewel 2025 in Australia is going to be one of the most thrilling events of the year.
