WWE Night of Champions Results (6/28/25):
- WWE Night of Champions kicks off with the King of the Ring finals, as Randy Orton makes his way to the ring to a rousing WWE Universe response. Out comes Cody Rhodes with the same monstrous reception. Orton and Rhodes brought it tonight, hitting each other with all they got. The WWE Universe saw multiple Cody Cutters, Cross Rhodes, RKOs, and even a Punt Kick attempt. In the end, it was Orton’s lack of patience, which was unlike him, that cost him the match. Orton would expose the turnbuckle, and it would bite him in the backside. Rhodes would send Orton rib-first into the exposed turnbuckle, lock him into position, and hit Cross Rhodes for the second time to become King of the Ring.
- Rhea Ripley settles her differences with former best friend Raquel Rodriguez in a Street Fight next. If violence is what you’re looking for, this match did not disappoint. Rodriguez and Ripley brought every piece of furniture under the sun into this sadistic brawl. Rodriguez would dominate early, but Ripley would match the pace late in the match. Rhea’s momentum was almost stunted when Roxanne Perez got involved, temporarily giving Rodriguez the opening. Fortunately, the “Eradicator” would bounce back, and with an Avalanche Riptide as she and Rodriguez balance on top of a table propped up on the top turnbuckle. Rhea Ripley would exact her revenge and pick up the victory.
- Karrion Kross, with Scarlett by his side, looks to make this Night of Champions into a nightmare as he battles Sami Zayn in a Grudge Match. Zayn survived this match by the skin of his teeth. Throughout the match, Karrion Kross executed his physical and mental game plan masterfully. At the climax of this very physical war, Karrion had Sami in the Kross Jacket, following it up with multiple Running Clotheslines to the corner. However, Kross got a little too confident, running to the opposite corner to charge up one more, and that’s when Zayn pulled off the miracle, hitting the Helluva Kick for the win.
- Next, on the WWE Night of Champions, the “Samoan Werewolf” and United States Champion Jacob Fatu headed into Riyadh looking to defend his title successfully and put Solo Sikoa in his place once and for all. Sikoa dominated most of the match. However, Jacob Fatu would quickly bounce back. On the verge of retaining, Jacob Fatu’s efforts were thwarted by JC Mateo and one returning superstar, as well as a debuting monster. In the end, everything was too much for Jacob Fatu to handle, and with a Samoan Spike, Solo Sikoa would become the new United States Champion.
- The penultimate match of Night of Champions sees Asuka lock up with Jade Cargill to crown Queen of the Ring. Asuka started off the match, using her experience to ground the powerhouse. Jade Cargill would bounce back, using her relentless strength to fight off the “Empress of Tomorrow.” As the match concluded, Jade Cargill would catch Asuka off guard to hit Jaded and be crowned Queen of the Ring and a guaranteed WWE Women’s Championship Match at SummerSlam.
- For the main of the evening, CM Punk looks to become the “Best in the World” once again as he fights John Cena one final time for the Undisputed WWE Championship. As expected for their final showdown, Punk and Cena put on a classic only they can produce. At one point in the match, Cena would threaten to blast Punk with the Undisputed WWE Title. However, Cena somewhat had a moment of humanity, choosing not to go through with it. The match would continue until John inadvertently hit the referee, knocking the official out. Seth Rollins and his men would come down to the ring and threaten to disrupt the match and make a potential cash-in. Cena and Punk would team up momentarily to ward off the attacks of Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Brunson Reed. The numbers game caught up way too fast. Penta then Sami Zayn would come, with both men’s aids. Zayn brawled with Breakker on the side of the ramp, and Penta delivered a high-risk Cross Body to take both men out. Punk would stop a Reed Tsunami attempt on Cena, bringing this match back to being one-on-one. Punk would offer to shake John’s hand, and the G.O.A.T. would seemingly accept before trying to low-blow Punk, much like he did to Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber. Punk would see this from a mile away, catch Cena, and hoist him up for the GTS. Unfortunately, Seth Rollins would hit Punk with the MITB briefcase and then deliver an impactful Stomp. Cena saw his opening, threw Rollins out of the ring, and made the pin to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship and end the night.
That’s all for the WWE Night of Champions results.
