Best Money in the Bank Cash-Ins of the Past 10 Years

Best Money in the Bank Cash-Ins of the Past 10 Years

Money in the Bank is one of the best phrases in WWE. It means that a wrestler has the opportunity to give the fans a moment they will never forget.

It’s a moment that gets an immediate pop from the audience and a much-debated moment. When and how it will happen are part of the whole fun surrounding the briefcase.

Over the past years, we have been treated to some fantastic cash-ins. With a women’s and men’s match, there are usually two of these cash-ins every year, and some of them have made for great television. They have included great matches, defining moments, and some of the best pops in recent memory.

Below is the list of the best Money in the Bank cash-ins of the past ten years.

Iyo Sky (SummerSlam 2023)

Iyo Sky was a star in the making when she won Money in the Bank. Her high-flying style and infectious energy ingratiated Iyo Sky with the audience. There was a huge pop when she took the briefcase, and we all knew it was a matter of time before that momentum would take her to the championship.

Asuka, Charlotte Flair, and Bianca Belair had just finished a banger of a triple threat match when Iyo Sky came to pick the bones. There had been teases in the past, but the audience knew that this was legit.

Sky stormed to the ring and cashed in her briefcase to a deafening response. It was a big moment on one of the biggest shows of the year.

Damian Priest (WrestleMania 40)

Damian Priest’s run with the Money in the Bank briefcase was one of the longest in history. Señor Money in the Bank teased it more times than one can count, and with his growing experience, we knew he was primed for a big moment. That moment came at WrestleMania when Priest cashed in on a wounded Drew McIntyre.

CM Punk’s attack on McIntyre left the new World Heavyweight Champion ripe for the picking. Damian Priest saw the perfect moment and cashed in for his first world championship.

It was a massive moment all around. A WrestleMania-sized Money in the Bank cash-in that created a new main event star.

Alexa Bliss (Money in the Bank 2018)

Little Miss Bliss was on a path of redemption in 2018. She had already held a Women’s World Championship but was ousted by former friend Nia Jax. It was an act of betrayal that Bliss would never forget, and one that pushed her into one of the most memorable Money in the Bank cash-ins in company history.

Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey were in the middle of a very physical encounter when Alex Bliss appeared out of nowhere and beat both women down. It was a vicious attack that was as violent as it was surprising.

Alexa Bliss realized her opportune moment had reared its head, and she pinned Nia Jax to get her championship back. It was the perfect ending to Bliss’s journey to once again become a world champion.

Big E (Monday Night Raw 2021)

A story that always works, with regards to Money in the Bank, is one backed by the fans. When a sentimental choice wins the briefcase and then a championship, the world loves it, and the ratings skyrocket. This is why Big E cashing in on Bobby Lashley was such a fantastic moment.

Big E was the star of the New Day. He was the big personality who was earmarked for something great.

The fans wanted it, the office wanted it, and when his music hit during a Bobby Lashley title defense, the roar was perfect. It was a surprise that not many could have predicted, but a very welcome one, and one of the best television moments of 2021.

Nikki A.S.H (Monday Night Raw 2021)

Not to be outdone by her male counterpart, Nikki A.S.H. had herself one heck of a memorable Money in the Bank cash-in at the end of 2021. Nikki A.S.H. was not a character that should have worked, but it did.

The comical nature of her character was played so well that the audience began to take her seriously. Even more so when the underdog shocked everyone by winning Money in the Bank. It was a huge win and one that set her up for her crowning moment.

Charlotte Flair had barely made it by Rhea Ripley when we heard the music to introduce Nikki A.S.H. She rushed to the ring and completed her underdog story arc by going over Flair for the championship. It was a championship win that no one thought they would ever see.

Bayley (Money in the Bank 2019)

Bayley was great as ‘The Hugger’, but more was needed to make this character work. She needed a boost and was given a huge one when she outlasted the field to win the Women’s Money in the Bank. It was a legitimizing win that Bayley didn’t rest on, cashing in her contract in a huge moment only hours later.

As it goes, Charlotte Flair was once again the champion of note when Money in the Bank was cashed in. This time, though, there was much more of a personal angle behind it. Bayley had saved her friend from a Charlotte attack and, in the craziness, decided to cash in Money in the Bank.

The moment was perfect. The crowd was into it, and it represented a pivotal moment in the career of Bayley. Everything changed for her following this cash-in.

Dean Ambrose (Money in the Bank 2016)

Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns were joined at the hip throughout their WWE tenure. As The Shield, they were dominant, but it was apart that they produced some of the greatest moments in WWE history. This main event is one of them.

When Dean Ambrose won the ladder match, the world could smell what was coming. With hated rival Seth Rollins in the main event, the possibility for a life-changing cash-in was on the horizon. It would also be the best revenge for a man hell bent on dishing some out.

Seth Rollins won the WWE Championship and was celebrating his victory when that familiar music hit. Dean Ambrose ambushed the champion and cashed in his chance, leading to the first and -so far-only WWE Championship win for Dean Ambrose. It was the cap on a historic evening for WWE.
