MLW Battle Riot VII Preview (4/5/2025)

Major League Wrestling (MLW) is bringing its biggest event of the year, Battle Riot VII, to the Los Angeles Area for the first time ever on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the Thunder Studios Arena in Long Beach. The annual event will air live for free on MLW’s YouTube Channel on Saturday, April 5 at 10 pm ET.

The Battle Riot match is a 40-wrestler no-holds-barred spectacle where Matt Riddle’s MLW World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line. Can Riddle outlast 39 foes? Combining a battle royal with an anything-goes street fight, the Battle RIOT match is pure chaos as a new participant enters the ring every 60 seconds.

Expect legends, surprises, and unpredictable action as the best from MLW, CMLL, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling collide. With eliminations by pinfall, submission, or being thrown over the top rope, Battle Riot VII promises an explosive, can’t-miss main event.

TJPW Partnership

HIMAWARI, one of Tokyo Joshi Pro-Wrestling’s (TJPW) most dynamic competitors, will make her MLW debut at Battle Riot VII. Before stepping into the ring, HIMAWARI built a career in the performing arts. A Japanese actress turned pro wrestler, she graduated from university with a degree in musical theater and later worked as a stage actress, honing her larger-than-life presence that now translates seamlessly into professional wrestling.

Since making her official debut in TJPW on January 4, 2023, she has captivated audiences with her theatrical charisma and hard-hitting style. At 5 feet 1 inch, HIMAWARI is known for her eccentric in-ring energy, often using her super long hair as a weapon. Her finishing move, the Princess Drop, has become a signature, showcasing her power and precision inside the ring.

Shoko Nakajima, one of Japan’s most celebrated and decorated wrestlers, will also make her MLW debut. Nakajima brings an elite résumé that includes two reigns as Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling’s (TJPW) Princess of Princess Champion and Tokyo Princess Tag Team Champion.

A beloved figure in Japan, Nakajima has built a reputation for blistering high-speed offense, a fearless fighting spirit, and an unbreakable will to win. Known as “Big Kaiju”, Nakajima’s nickname reflects her explosive, larger-than-life energy, a force that has taken her to championship gold and victories over some of Japan’s greatest wrestlers.
