NXT Roadblock: Oba Femi Bests Moose To Retain NXT Title

NXT Champion Oba Femi and TNA X-Division Champion Moose have been in each other’s crosshairs for close to a month now. At WWE NXT Roadblock, it all came to a head when the two had their match for the NXT Championship.

Oba Femi Defeats Moose at NXT Roadblock

At NXT Roadblock, the stakes were high on both sides. WWE legend and veteran The Undertaker even offered some encouragement to Femi, telling him to “defend [his] yard.”

After a grueling and intense match, Femi picked up the victory and successfully retained the NXT Championship. This proved Femi’s dominance, which extends beyond just the WWE’s third brand.

Oba Femi and Moose History

Oba Femi and Moose have been involved in a feud since the February 18 edition of NXT. The following week, they agreed to have this match, and it immediately became one of the most anticipated of the Roadblock card.

Moose is the current TNA X-Division Champion and, despite being one of the most notable names in professional wrestling, he has never been signed to WWE. As a result, he has never held WWE gold. This was a chance for Moose to shock the entire industry in a major way by immediately claiming NXT’s top gold.

Femi is most remembered for his dominant reign as the NXT North American Champion. More impressive than that is how quickly he achieved that. His NXT Championship reign, although still under 100 days in, is already moving in that same dominant trajectory.
