WWE Superstars That Could Team With The Rock and John Cena

The heel turn heard around the wrestling world is still surreal to many of John Cena’s longtime fans. Whether you are a big fan of factions or believe the Rock’s finger-based fan theories, there is a growing consensus that The Rock is not going to take hold of the family as people thought, instead making his own group.

Three is a crowd, especially with the stars involved, but who else might team with The Rock and John Cena as the TKO chosen champions? A proper faction needs at least three, and Travis Scott doesn’t count until otherwise confirmed.

WWE could elevate some new heels or stick to the theme and break more hearts. Both offer different visions for the future of WWE and the Road to WrestleMania.

Fresh Faces Team with The Rock and John Cena

If WWE is hoping that a Heel can soak up the aura and heat that John Cena and The Rock breaking bad together have, only one guy should be on their list. Logan Paul is the smuggest heel on the roster. He is talented enough to excel in the ring and those environments with actual stars.

He is also a lock to agree to it since he is a heel already. His personal brand is worse than that of either of the other men, so that is a big mark against him and their Hollywood credentials. It is a brave new world in 2025, and both have been on his podcast before, though.

A less controversial and thematically appropriate pick is Dominik Mysterio. He would have been a child when he met both Cena and The Rock. His siding with this two-person power trip would take his already nuclear heat and magnify it.

He is also a full-time member of the roster, so he can move the story forward when his other key participants are not around due to other engagements. His run with Judgment Day is ending, but that doesn’t mean he needs to be a hero now. He is a perfect heel and would get a lot out of that experience.

More Shocking Heel Turns from Nostalgia Superstars

A team with The Rock and John Cena isn’t necessarily struck as two “old acts” reuniting. In fact, at one point, The Rock vs John Cena was an era-over-era feud between two WrestleMania. Also, Cena won his match before The Rock got involved to earn his shot. WWE should consider another perpetual face and talented star like Rey Mysterio to join if all that was intentional.

He is from the old guard and could easily fit into a narrative of still top tier and not willing to lose his spot. Rey has also never been a bad guy in the WWE. That is another similarity. Having all of the greats from years past is iconic. Having all of our former heroes turn heel to prompt a new wave of heroic faces is genius.

If the expansion is post-WrestleMania, then Randy Orton fits this mold as well. Randy is one of Cena’s biggest challengers ever, and his feud with Cody Rhodes won’t make as much sense as if one of them won’t turn heel.

The Rock going out and finding guys with the talent and ring experience in WWE to school a new generation is a cool idea for a faction. Orton has played Cena’s foil before. He has also been Cody’s ally. Making them partners is a nice way to honor their legacy while also giving all three parties fresh directions to choose from going forward.

Only Travis Scott Gets to Team with The Rock and John Cena

Fans quickly pointed out that rapper Travis Scott made a celebrity appearance in this segment, which left them even more confused. One clip showed him getting physical with Cody, and rumors have started to swirl that sooner or later, he will compete.

Mileage will vary on Travis Scott as an interesting third man, but it would help cement this faction as “Hollywood” in a way almost nobody else on the roster could replicate. If he wants to get into the ring, doing so with Cena at his side will make it nearly impossible for his fans not to know about the collaboration.

Occam’s Razor, in a WWE context, is a foolish standard to apply. In the wild world of wrestling, the simplest explanation is almost never the right one.

That is probably the case this time, given how distracting Travis Scott’s inclusion would be. Still, if he were to team with The Rock and John Cena, it would explain why he was part of the segment. The simplest explanation is that he is also aligned with The Rock, and John Cena might be the correct one.

That being said, it doesn’t mean he is the only other member, especially if he is not quite ready to step into the ring for matches. With Scott as an additional member, other athletes would seem like a month.

A Team with The Rock and John Cena May Keep Both Around

No matter how many people join, this team with The Rock and John Cena certainly feels like it could last a while if they wanted it to. More importantly, it almost undoubtedly should stay on as long as possible. This is already one of the most significant developments in, maybe all of time.

Yes, John Cena said no more WrestleMania, but that was before the turn. Cena going back on his promise to extend this run for at least a month or so, should illicit even more heat and be another example of why he can’t be trusted anymore despite his long history of being a stand-up guy.

The Rock said he wasn’t coming to Las Vegas either, and here we are. The next chapter on the Road to WrestleMania is going to be chaotic, and this may still yet be the last time we get to see it, and whoever will do it next, at the same time.
