Should Darby Allin Climb Mount Everest and Take A Break from AEW?

One of the few wrestlers for whom risk-taking is not just part of his character but part of his lifestyle is AEW’s Darby Allin. He sacrifices his body in matches despite any injuries he may sustain and continues the match if he becomes injured. He has always fought hard to return to the ring quickly

His risk-taking energy isn’t just a characteristic but part of his lifestyle. He had taken a jeep and jumped it 96 feet over his house; he has been on Nitro Circus (an event with top athletes and daredevils to show off their BMX, skateboard, scooter, and more skills), and is now going to climb Mount Everest.

Allin was set to climb Mount Everest in the Spring of 2024, but he broke his foot on an episode of AEW Dynamite, delaying his ventures. However, being the daredevil he is, he will continue to pursue that dream this coming spring. To prepare for the challenging journey, Allin will take time off of AEW until then.

Why Climb Mount Everest

Darby Allin has done the unthinkable in AEW. What he endures and puts his body through for our entertainment is genuinely mind-blowing.

We have seen him jump off ladders into glass, chairs, tables, people, and almost anything you can think of. Allin has glued thumbtacks to his face and the bottom of his skateboard. He has done things we have never seen another wrestler do. Now, he wants to be the first wrestler to climb Mount Everest.

Climbing Mount Everest is not something to take lightly. It takes rigorous training and time to complete this task. It is grueling and life-threatening, but Allin has only been excited about the challenge.

On The Daly Migs Show, Allin had said,

“It’s something to push my body to the absolute limits. Everybody sees what I physically do in AEW, but I thought, man, what’s something a pro wrestler has never done before? So I started thinking, Mount Everest. That sounds insane.”

Despite having his setback when he broke his foot, he is still determined to take the dangerous climb. He enjoys taking risks, and reaching the top of Mount Everest is just going to be another one of his many achievements.

Timing For Darby Allin

There is never really a good time to take time off of wrestling, no matter what the show must go on. It is very interesting in Darby Allin’s case, considering the rumors that he has been circling for months about becoming AEW World Champion.

Since last fall, it has supposedly been discussed making Darby Allin AEW World Champion, but now these plans will be pushed further if they still happen.

Allin as AEW World Champion would be refreshing to see in AEW, considering how much of a fan favorite he is and how different he is from the rest of the roster.

With Moxley as the World Champion right now, Allin would be the perfect person to take that title from him. They have always put on vicious matches with each other, and a win for Allin could be considered the final bout between them.

However, the longer we wait for Darby Allin to become AEW World Champion, the more meaningful it will be when it happens.
