Cody Rhodes Defends Gold Against AJ Styles

Cody Rhodes is coming up on a month as champion since winning the Undisputed Universal Championship from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL night two. For his first PLE title defense, there was a tournament to determine the next title challenger, and it provided quite the opponent.

After defeating LA Knight in the final of the eliminator tournament, AJ Styles now finds himself in a position to pull a major upset. Having just won the title, many are expecting Rhodes’ reign to be a long and fruitful one but Styles hopes to be the one to derail those plans.

The Universal Championship was established in 2016, which was the same year that Styles joined the WWE. Since then, the title has evaded him one way or another, and he truly feels that this could be the time that he gets the gold. For Rhodes, this is the opportunity for him to make a statement to the entire roster. Regardless of the result, this is a match that could shift the status quo within the WWE in a major way.

Jey Uso Challenges Damian Priest For World Heavyweight Championship

Jey Uso was the number one draft pick for Raw this year, and he has certainly proven his worth over the time he has been assigned to the brand. Uso donned himself ‘Main Event’ and he has lived up to that mantle and now, he looks to adorn himself with gold to prove it. But when it comes to opportunity, there is none that knows about that more than current titleholder Damian Priest.
Priest also scored big at WrestleMania when he traded his ‘Señor Money in the Bank’ title for ‘Señor World Heavyweight Champion’. At Backlash France, Priest will get the chance to defend his title and prove himself as a champion.
This is Priest’s first major singles title but he will be going up against one of the most popular acts within the WWE – one that is riding a wave of momentum. This will be a battle of who can outwit the other to ultimately get the gold.

Bayley Defends Championship In High-Stakes Triple Threat

Bayley was amongst the superstars that got crowned champions at WrestleMania XL. Bayley wanted to grant her longtime friend Naomi the chance to challenge for the gold but, feeling left out, Tiffany Stratton involved herself in the situation. This has led to a three-way rivalry that can only be fairly resolved by having all three compete in a match together.

One-on-one action has only riled up the rivalry but now, with all three in the ring, they will have to outsmart two others to get to the championship. This will be quite the match for fans to tune into.
