Preview: AEW Dynamite (3/27/24)

AEW Dynamite Konosuke Takeshit vs. Swerve Strickland Match Graphic

We have an exciting night of action to look forward to for this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

There will be a number one contender match for the TBS Championship as Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue, and Anna Jay will battle it out to challenge champ Julia Hart. Mercedes Mone will be ringside, providing commentary on the action.

Matthew and Nicholas Jackson will face off against Private Party in an AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament quarter-final match.

The circumstances mirror the initial match-up between the two where Private Party scored the upset win. Will history repeat itself?

Will Ospreay and Katsuyori Shibata will face off in a spectacular match.

Our focus will be on the encounter between Konosuke Takeshita and Swerve Strickland as both men try to earn the number-one contender spot for the AEW World Championship.

Full AEW Dynamite Card:

  • Will Ospreay vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • Kris Statlander vs. Skye Blue vs. Anna Jay vs. Willow Nightingale: Mercedes Mone on commentary
  • Konosuke Takeshita vs. Swerve Strickland
  • THe Young Bucks vs. Private Party

Will Swerve continue his march to the AEW World Championship?

Konosuke Takeshita and Swerve Strickland are going to have an incredible match. These men are at the top of their games, and few have impressed more than them.

Swerve has looked every bit of the top contender since his series with “Hangman” Adam Page and has only built on that momentum.

Takeshita might be coming off a loss to the recently debuted Will Ospreay, but he looked every bit the equal of the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.

While Takeshita will continue his rise up the card, this is Swerve’s time. He will continue to march on to earn a shot at AEW World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe.

The champion has done a spectacular job with the belt, but Swerve has more than proven he deserves a run.

AEW Gets Modern Masculinity

When it comes to AEW and their presentation of men and male relationships in storylines and characters, I don’t think the company gets enough credit. Sports generally
