AEW Rampage this week is the second of four separate TV shows taped at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, CA. The last stop on this west coast loop AEW has been running lately. The Save Mart Center was the location of the rather well-remembered 2005 Royal Rumble. The Rumble match itself saw a botched tie between John Cena and Batista before Vince McMahon marched down, tore both quadriceps muscles entering the ring, the ordered Cena and Batista to have a restart of the finale before Batista officially won. The show also had a memorable commercial as the Raw and Smackdown rosters did a West Side Story inspired song and dance number about the match itself. “There’s going to be a Royal Rumble tonight. A very Royal Rumble, THAT’S RIGHT!!” Let’s take a look at the AEW Rampage card for this show.

AEW Rampage Card Tonight

All Ego vs The Jungle Boy

Jack Perry continues to have dealings against The Firm and now has to face one of the group’s top members in the form of the other finalist of the recent World title Eliminator Tournament, Ethan Page. ‘All Ego’ has expressed discontent at spending his time in Dark/Elevation the past few weeks and now looks to stop Jack Perry’s momentum.

Garcia Wants To Prove Himself

Action Andretti returns to the ring after his shocking win over Chris Jericho on his Dynamite debut. He takes on another member of the Jericho Appreciation Society in former Pure Champion, Daniel Garcia. Andretti has stood alongside Ricky Starks in the last few weeks fighting back against the group of ‘Sports Entertainers’. But at the same time, Daniel Garcia’s recent losses made Chris Jericho place Sammy Guevara as his mentor. Wanting to step up, Garcia asked on Dynamite to replace Sammy Guevara on tonight Rampage. As Guevara and Jericho, Le Sex Gods, are slated to team up on next week’s Dynamite. But Sammy made it a condition that Garcia can only replace him if he win tonight against Action Andretti. But what if Andretti pulls off another upset?

New Baddies Formation

TBS Champion Jade Cargill has officially banished another now former member of her group, The Baddies after kicking out Red Velvet. This was followed up by her marking Leila Grey as a full member of the group. But as it stands, there’s just two of them right now. Nonetheless, they team up tonight for some tag team action.

Lucha Underground Runback

One third of the ROH Trios Champions, Brian Cage, faces off against the debuting Willie Mack. This match actually happens to be a rematch between the two from Dark Elevation this very week. But more over, these two had a major rivalry on Lucha Underground. To the point that they had two very intense matches on back to back Ultima Lucha events for the first and second season.

Of course, Cage is gearing up for his announced match against Bryan Danielson on Dynamite. But seeing these two lock up again, especially what they’ve done since Lucha Underground, it’ll be a lot of fun. Both have had substantial runs in AAA. Have won titles in Impact! Wrestling including the X Division title for both. So, as Dario Cueto would say, “ring the belllllll!!”

Eddie Kingston Explains

Last week Ortiz and Eddie Kingston had a hard time dealing with The Kings of the Black Throne, Malakai Black and Brody King. Through the machinations of The House Of Black, Eddie and Ortiz have lost trust in each other and it cost them the match on Dynamite. Now Eddie Kingston will speak his mind on Rampage. And if we know anything about Eddie, it’s that he can have a temper and a hard time with trusting others.

All that and more tonight on this AEW Rampage card.
