AEW Rampage comes to us this week from the legendary Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Home to WrestleMania 4 and 5, as well as a few other wrestling events. AEW visited the venue for February 9 where Hangman Page defeated Lance Archer in a stellar Texas Deathmatch to retain the World title. 2 episodes of Smackdown also took place here. Including the July 11, 2002 edition of Smackdown where Hulk Hogan and Edge defeated Billy & Chuck to retain the WWE World Tag Team Championships. Let’s see what’s on tap for the AEW Rampage card at this notorious venue.

They Weren’t Kidding When They Said “Dream Match”

Last week an All-Atlantic ‘Dream Match’ open challenge was promoted for this show. The contract was signed on Dynamite. Orange Cassidy has his challenger said. But who on Earth would’ve expected it? KATSUYORI SHIBATA will be facing Orange Cassidy for the AEW All-Atlantic Championship.

This will be Katsuyori Shibata’s first full-blown wrestling match since April 9, 2017’s Sakura Genesis event after a crippling headbutt to Kazuchika Okada’s head left Shibata unable to wrestle. While Shibata has had a 5-minute exhibition with Zack Sabre Jr. and a 15-minute time-limit grappling match with Ren Narita, this looks to be his first full-blown match. And it’s for AEW. Following up on the interaction between Shibata and Orange Cassidy at NJPW x AEW Forbidden Door.

Baddest Man On Commentary

Mike Tyson is set to make another appearance for AEW, this time coming on Rampage. After presenting the AEW TNT Championship, knocking down Chris Jericho, and more, Mike Tyson makes his way back to the company. This time, he’ll be sitting on the commentary desk. One has to wonder who will sit with him. Will Chris Jericho be there this week too? What about Jim Ross? Crazy enough, he will be calling the action for the Orange Cassidy vs Katsuyori Shibata title match.

Mike Tyson has become one of AEW’s go-to celebrity stars. This coming after seeing the likes of Rick Ross, Shaquille O’Neill, and others. At least it’s not as random as most of the last few appearances.

Women’s Tag Team Action

Dr. Britt Baker and the #1 contender to the AEW Women’s World Champion Jaime Hayter team up to take on the veteran/rookie tandem that has been developing on Rampage, Skye Blue, and Madison Rayne. Jamie Hayter’s title match has been announced for Full Gear. And it seems Dr. Britt Baker may be joining soon with a certain Twitch-loving Brit once known as Paige: Saraya. For now, the tandem goes head-to-head with Skye Blue and the former Impact! Knockout veteran.

Ricky Starks Speaks

Ricky Starks is set to speak on Rampage this week. Having managed to defeat Powerhouse Hobbs weeks ago in a Lights Out match at the Rampage Grand Slam, we’ll be seeing what’s his next step. It might likely be that The Absolute One will be calling his shot for the annual AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament. As more participants were scheduled to be announced for the show.

All that and more, tonight on this AEW Rampage card.
