The temperature’s rising but not just outside. Summer is in the air, and inside the ring, things are heating up. The SummerSlam card is official, but first, one last Monday Night Raw to settle some scores. And scores will be settled as Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins come face-to-face for one last time before the biggest party of the summer. And they aren’t the only ones.
Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar are set for a weigh-in ahead of their much-anticipated (and possible final bow for Brock) showdown. Je’Von Evans gets a shot at Rusev while Sol Ruca is in action defending her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Raquel Rodriguez. Rey Mysterio will be in action against Ethan Page, and Alpha Academy look to get revenge on the Vision and their newest manager, Maxxine Dupri.
It’s not often that WWE announces this much in advance, but it just goes to show that Raw is the marquee attraction tonight and WWE Raw results are worth following. We’re live from the Intuit Dome tonight in Inglewood, California, so expect some barbs toward the city that lost LeBron James to Philadelphia, where it’s worth noting, SmackDown will be in two weeks. Rollins vs Reigns – Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. These two are inextricably linked and will forever be. Their WWE careers began on the same night, and ever since then, their career paths have run as parallel as they have run completely opposite. Rollins sold out to become the quintessential champ. There every night, carrying the company, making no overtures toward anything else. Rollins has always made it known WWE is where he wants to be.
Reigns is the part-time superstar who took a more winding path to the top, but when he reached that pinnacle, there was no looking back. Reigns is THE star, THE face, THE guy in a post-John Cena world. He may not be there every week, but when he is, it’s must-see TV. These two have been on a collision course for years, but injuries and triple threats have derailed the showdown fans have been clamoring for…until now. Tonight, these two get a shot to lay some parting words, and given their history, they will no doubt be explosive. The question is, will things come to blows before Sunday’s finale? Femi vs Lesnar – Is this Brock’s Final Monday Night?
Brock Lesnar feigned retirement after his WrestleMania loss to Oba Femi, but things felt incomplete. As the two get ready to wrap up their trilogy, Lesnar heads to SummerSlam in his hometown of Minneapolis. He has a chance to cement Femi as a star and leave his boots in the place that made him. It feels like a perfect sendoff. Tonight, Lesnar will face Femi in a weigh-in, something not often seen in pro wrestling but very common in Lesnar’s other area of combat sports.
These two are set for Hell in a Cell on Sunday, but tonight, LA might be setting the scene to say goodbye to one of pro wrestling’s most dominant forces while beginning to build the future of its next one. Stay tuned to WWE Raw results to find out.
Sol Ruca vs Raquel Rodriguez – Judgment Day Tries Again for More Gold
Much has been made about Liv Morgan not defending her women’s world title since winning it. Her first defense is set for this weekend. However, Morgan has worked behind the scenes to continue to prop up Judgment Day and set her stablemates up for success. Raquel Rodriguez gets another shot at bringing more gold home to Judgment Day tonight when she takes on the rising Sol Ruca. It won’t be easy, though, as Ruca is incredibly talented.
