SmackDown Ratings, Viewership and Demo (10/14/22): SmackDown Holds Steady Against Baseball

Bray Wyatts Potential Return

Smackdown was following up the “season premiere” with Bray Wyatt headlining as he made his first televised appearance since his return at Extreme Rules.  Interestingly, the October 14 episode of SD went up against the baseball playoffs. How did this competition affect the SmackDown ratings? Read on to find out.

WWE Ratings – SmackDown Ratings and Viewership Data for October 14, 2022

As reported by Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics the episode did 2.274 million viewers and a .54 in the key demo. Viewership was up a tiny fraction from last week’s show while the key demographic remained the exact same. The demo may have remained the same but SD still slipped from third on cable last week, to fifth this week due to the baseball playoffs.

Heading into the SmackDown card this past week the show was heavily reliant on Bray Wyatt to draw interest. In addition, LA Knight’s debut(?) was advertised when he took on Mansoor, and former champion Kofi Kingston collided with Sami Zayn. Roxanne Perez was on hand but it’s unlikely the NXT performer led to a big increase in viewers.

As of now, there is nothing announced for SD this week. Keeping up these solid numbers may be difficult with nothing announced but fans can probably expect to see the usual faces.
