Playing Spoiler
There really is no rest for the wicked. After defeating RUSH in a stellar AEW World Title bout on last week’s Fight for the Fallen, Jon Moxley has another familiar foe lined up. After a barn-burning affair between “The Purveyor of Violence” and ” El Toro Blanco,” Chris Jericho immediately laid down the gauntlet and challenged Mox for the World Title at Quake By The Lake.
Welcoming all challengers, Moxley gladly granted the former inaugural AEW World Champion his wish for a title match. However, Moxley stated he better bring “Lionheart” Chris Jericho and not past incarnations of the “Sports Entertainer” that has failed time and again to get his title back.
Unfortunately for Jericho, this match may not be set in stone as Mox’s fellow Blackpool Combat Club member Wheeler Yuta has a chance of a lifetime to steal away the opportunity from the JAS leader. Yuta went through hell and back with Jericho Appreciation Society member Daniel Garcia in a grueling ROH Pure Championship Match some weeks back at Death Before Dishonor.
Wheeler is definitely hungry for more gold and will go through Jericho, maybe even his fellow BCC member to get it. Who will secure the title shot at Quake By The Lake?
Taking Out The Trash
The time for talk is now over. Two teams who were once inseparable now find themselves at odds with one another, and they settle the score in a Dumpster Match. Billy Gunn’s son Austin and Colten Gunn took a liking to The Acclaimed and approached them for a partnership, which the brash duo agreed to. Unfortunately, Max Caster and Anthony Bowens couldn’t spot the snakes in the grass from a mile away until it was too late.
In an Eight-Man Tag Team Match three weeks ago on AEW Dynamite, the team of the Gunn Club and The Acclaimed were victorious over Ruffin It and Fuego Del Sol. Unfortunately, the Gunns had a plan all along and blindsided Caster and Bowens, effectively severing their ties with the duo. The same thing happened again when Max mopped the floor with Austin in a rap battle on AEW Rampage.
The Acclaimed will no longer stand for this, and the Gunn Club might be in for the beating of a lifetime. Will the Gunn Club walk away with a victory? Or will The Acclaimed finally get a measure of revenge? Find out this Wednesday night as it all goes down on another spectacular edition of AEW Dynamite!
