First Ever Queen of the Mountain Match Announced in IMPACT Wrestling

IMPACT Queen of the Mountain

This week on IMPACT on AXS TV, IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Famer Gail Kim dropped a major announcement. The first-ever Knockouts Queen of the Mountain match will take place at Slammiversary on Sunday, June 19th in Nashville Tennessee.

Gail Kim Announces First-Ever Queen of the Mountain Match

The entrants for the match include; Mia Yim, Jordynne Grace, Deonna Purrazzo, Chelsea Green, and IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Tasha Steelz. The winner of the match will be crowned the IMPACT Knockouts World Champion.

The King of the Mountain match is a creation of IMPACT Wrestling. The match is similar to a ladder match but has a few twists in it. Before a wrestler can climb the ladder and take down the belt to win, they must score a pinfall or submission. Once they do so they become eligible to climb the ladder and win the match. Any wrestler that is pinned or submitted must spend time in a penalty box. More than one wrestler can be in the box at a time.

The match was introduced in 2004 and Jeff Jarrett was the winner of the match. The last time we saw a King of the Mountain match was in 2016 where Bram won the now defunct King of the Mountain Championship.

Slammiversary can be ordered on pay-per-view and FITE TV.
