No Rest For The Wicked: Samoa Joe Battles Trent Beretta on AEW Rampage

Two weeks after the brutal match that saw Samoa Joe take the ROH World Television Championship from Minoru Suzuki, “The Samoan Submission Machine” defends his newly-won crown against Trent Beretta. Surely, Joe is still feeling the effects of the war opposite Suzuki. Not to mention, the beating he got at the hands of Jay LethalSonjay Dutt, and the debuting Satnam Singh can’t help matters. The towering giant squeezed the absolute life out of the brand new ROH TV titleholder, spoiling what was supposed to be a “feel good” moment.

However, Joe got a measure of revenge in the second installment of Battle of the Belts. As the match between ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham and Dalton Castle drew to a close, Dutt, Lethal, and Singh hit the ring to inflict even more damage to the retaining world champion. Fortunately, Joe, with a little help from a steel lead pipe, drove off the wolves and saved the champion from further repercussions.

There is no rest for the wicked, as they say. Joe will go one on one with one half of Best Friends, Trent Beretta, this Friday night. Trent has the opportunity of a lifetime to cut Joe’s first reign with the title short come this Rampage. That being said, Joe hasn’t been in a particularly good mood lately and will undoubtedly release his pent-up aggression upon anyone foolish enough to stand across from him. Who will reign supreme?

Facing the Music

Week after week, Danhausen has tried his mightiest to put a curse upon “The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil” Hook, though to no avail. Danhausen reached his “limithausen” last week on AEW Dynamite after Hook effectively dispatched Anthony Henry in less than two minutes in his Wednesday night debut. Danhausen has had it with Hook’s shenanigans and declared that if he does not want to be cursed by Danhausen, then he will fight Danhausen!

These two will have a face-to-face confrontation in the middle of the ring, in front of the loyal AEW Rampage crowd. Something’s got to give between these two. What will transpire between Hook and Danhausen? See for yourself this Friday, only on TNT!
