Preview: AEW Dark (4/5/22) – The Wingmen in Action

AEW Dark Feat Cezar Bononi of The Wingmen

It is once again time for AEW Dark, and we have six matches to look forward to. “The Murderhawk Monster” Lance Archer is looking to get back in the win column after his tough battle with Dustin Rhodes as he takes on Dean Alexander. Also looking to get back into the win column is Sonny Kiss, who is coming off back-to-back losses and hopes to pick up the win against JP Harlow. Our focus on tonight’s AEW Dark will be on tag-team action as Cezar Bononi of The Wingmen teams up with Tiger Ruas to take on Guillermo Rosas and Luke Sampson.

Full AEW Dark Card (4/5/22)

  • Luke Sampson and Guillermo Rosas vs. Tiger Ruas and Cezar Bononi
  • JP Harlow vs. Sonny Kiss
  • The Factory’s Aaron Solo and Nick Comoroto vs. Alan “5” Angels and 10
  • The Wingmen’s Ryan Nemeth vs. Chandler Hopkins

Luke Sampson and Guillermo Rosas vs Tiger Ruas and Cezar Bononi

Cezar Bononi is in tag team action on AEW Dark, but surprisingly without his fellow Wingmen. Instead, he finds himself teaming with Tiger Ruas against Luke Sampson and Guillermo Rosas. While this is the first time Bononi and Ruas have teamed up in AEW, there was a period of time when they frequently teamed during their time in NXT. Even still, it has been almost three years since they last teamed up, which could factor into their chemistry.

A lack of cohesion could open the door for their opponents to pick up the win. While they have not teamed together before, Rosas and Sampson have shown they are solid tag team wrestlers in other promotions. Rosas regularly teams with “Classic” Cody Chhun as part of C4, with the two recently becoming the first Prestige Tag Team Champions. As I stated, Sampson is also a proven tag team competitor, regularly teaming with Trevor Blackwell, the duo notably capturing the GPW Tag Team Championship.

With all of that being said, I do see Ruas and Bononi picking up the win, but Rosas and Sampson will push them more than casual viewers will expect.
