Buddy Matthews made his All Elite Wrestling (AEW) debut on Dynamite tonight. He appeared following the The Kings of the Black Throne loss to PAC and Penta Oscuro.

Buddy Matthews Debuts in AEW

Following Penta rolling up Malakai Black for the win, an all out assault began on Penta. As Black was about to drive a shovel into the throat of Penta, the lights went out. When the lights came back on Matthews was standing in the ring, making his official AEW debut.

Black and Matthews had a stare down for a few seconds. Right as Matthews was about to strike Black, he turned around and attacked Penta, aligning himself with Kings of the Black Throne.

Black and Matthews are no strangers to each other, and the history was alluded to by the commentators. The two feuded in WWE on Monday Night Raw from 2019 until 2020. The bulk of the 2020 feud saw Matthews as a “disciple” of Seth Rollins in a feud against Rey Mysterio and Black. The two last squared off in a WWE ring on the July 3rd 2020 edition of Monday Night Raw. Black was last seen in a WWE ring on October of 2020 and was released shortly after. Matthews was last seen in a WWE ring in April of 2021 and was released shortly after. Both have now found a home in All Elite Wrestling.
