NXT UK Announced Card (02/24/22): Tag Team Titles Defended

  • NXT UK Tag Team Championship: Moustache Mountain vs. Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter
  • Xia Brookside vs. Amale
  • Celebration For Meiko Satomura

Meiko Satomura Gets A Present

NXT UK Women’s Champion Meiko Satomura will be given a present to celebrate her contribution to NXT UK.

It will be interesting to see if this gift takes inspiration from British or Japanese culture. Perhaps she’ll get an M&S Colin Caterpillar. The gift of the caterpillar-shaped cake is given to those held in the highest esteem in British offices.

Or maybe NXT UK officials will take inspiration from Ochugen – the Japanese gift-giving tradition that usually takes place in July – and shower her with Japanese fruit or noodles. Fingers crossed they don’t take inspiration from the world of American wrestling and give Satomura a giant gift-wrapped parcel with Blair Davenport hiding inside.

Brookside vs. Amale

Xia Brookside was left fuming last week when an NXT UK interviewer questioned if she wanted to be seen as a similar role model to Amale. Brookside is currently attempting to benefit from her dad Robbie Brookside’s connections.  Amale on the other hand is channeling her tough upbringing to give hope to those that need it. It is a great juxtaposition between privileged brat Brookside and resilient immigrant Amale.

Moustache Mountain’s NXT UK Tag Team Titles: Do They Retain?

Trent Seven and Tyler Bate “Moustache Mountain” will defend the NXT UK Tag Team gold they spent three years chasing for the first time. Ashton Smith & Oliver Carter are the team that will try and cause the most unlikely of upsets by defeating Moustache Mountain.

Smith & Carter are a great team and one a tag team eliminator series to earn this shot. They have a tough test ahead of them in challenging Moustache Mountain.
