Preview: AEW Dark (02/10/2022) – Thursday Edition of Dark

Thursday edition of Dark - Powerhouse Hobbs vs Lee Johnson Graphic

In a week already full of surprises for AEW fans with the debuts of Keith Lee and Jay White, we are treated to an extra showing of AEW Dark! With four matches on tonight’s offering, it will be interesting to see if these will be a more extended showcase than Dark’s normal match format. The A.H.F.O. is in action as The Blade and Private Party (Isaiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) as they will face Dante Martin, Lee Moriarty, and Matt Sydal. We will be focusing on a clash of opposing styles as Powerhouse Hobbs faces off with “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson. Let’s take a look at the lineup for this special Thursday edition of Dark.

Special Thursday Edition of Dark Full Card (02/10/2022)

  • Blade and Private Party (Isaiah Kassidy and Marq Quen) vs. Dante Martin, Lee Moriarty, and Matt Sydal
  • Aaron Solo w/ QT Marshall and Anthony Ogogo vs. Sonny Kiss
  • Powerhouse Hobbs w/Ricky Starks vs. Lee Johnson w/Brock Anderson
  • Gia Scott vs. Abadon

Powerhouse Hobbs vs. Lee Johnson

As I stated earlier, this is a clash of opposing styles that should make for a competitive match. “Big Shotty” Lee Johnson is lightning quick in the ring with a dynamic offense. It’s often overlooked how often he pushes high-level competitors, as many forget he is the one that found the blueprint to defeat Miro when he faced him for the TNT Championship.

All of that being said, Powerhouse Hobbs is on a mission to get a rematch with and defeat Dante Martin. There is an easy case to be made of how that could cloud his mind and lead to Johnson picking up the win. Unfortunately for Johnson, I don’t see that being the case. Instead, I see a very motivated Hobbs using this as an opportunity to send a message to Dante Martin.

Again both men are talented and have an equal chance of walking out with the victory. However, do not be surprised if Hobbs has a dominant showing against Johnson.
