New England-based independent organization Big Time Wrestling made a major announcement for its 2022 tour. It’s been announced that The Hardy Boyz will be working BTW’s upcoming event on March 12. It’s important to note that their opponents have yet to be named. However, this announcement is noteworthy as it marks the first time that Matt and Jeff Hardy have teamed in 3 years. BTW promises to announce more dates for the tour in question.

What to Know About the Legendary Tag Team

As mentioned earlier, on BTW’s March 12 show, The Hardy Boyz will team for the first time in 3 years. Matt and Jeff Hardy’s last televised match, as a tag team, took place on the April 9, 2019 edition of SmackDown, when they bested The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship. The Hardyz would go on to hold the titles for 21 days before they were vacated due to a knee injury sustained by Jeff.

The Hardy Boyz are often regarded as one of the greatest tag teams in history, not only due to their daredevil tactics but counterculture presentation. Along with The Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian, Matt and Jeff Hardy helped revolutionize tag team wrestling, primarily through their Tables, Ladders, and Chairs spectacles. In terms of accolades, The Hardy Boyz are incredibly decorated. In addition to winning 9 tag team titles in WWE, they won tag team gold in IMPACT Wrestling, Ring of Honor, and elsewhere.

Matt Hardy is currently employed by All Elite Wrestling, where he debuted in March 2020. Since then, he has done everything from portraying his popular “Broken” persona to organizing his own stable known as Hardy Family Office, or H.F.O. Meanwhile, until this past December, Jeff Hardy was contracted by WWE, working on the SmackDown brand. Jeff was released from the company on December 9 following a house show, in which he walked out during a tag team match.
