Matt Hardy Brings Vanguard 1 and the Broken Brilliance to AEW

On a night where Dynamite had no fans in the audience, All Elite Wrestling pulled out all of the stops anyway with not one, but two huge revealing moments. Following the reveal of Brodie Lee as the Dark Order‘s Exalted One and a final episode of Free the Delete that seemingly went nowhere, fans had given up on the idea that Matt Hardy was All Elite. But that’s exactly what happened and the way that it happened, made the moment that much more shocking.

With the Elite and the Inner Circle preparing for their Blood and Guts match, the two sides fought in a tag team battle to determine who would get the advantage in that content. The Inner Circle won and Chris Jericho wasted no time pointing out the numbers advantage to their side as well as the unity in the Inner Circle and dissension in the Elite. With Nick Jackson medically unable to compete, the Inner Circle boasted a five-member unit (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, Ortiz, Santana and Jake Hager) compared to just four for the Elite (Cody, Hangman Page, Kenny Omega and Matt Jackson). Only, Jackson had a little surprise up his sleeve. See, Matt Jackson recently did a friend a favor and now, he was cashing that in.

In a moment that would have resulted in a huge crowd pop, Vanguard 1 flew in from the back, signifying what was to come next. The familiar piano riff played and then, as cameras flashed to the rafters, there was the newly broken Matt Hardy, ready to deliver on the second coming he’s spent months promising. With Zenith removed from his vessel due to the burying the Young Bucks performed on Free the Delete, Hardy and his new persona, Damascus, are free to begin the next chapter of the Broken saga in AEW. He has found his Arcadia.

And for those who were fans of the original iteration of the Broken Brilliance, the one that was revisited in the Free the Delete series but kept dormant in WWE, expect the best from what Matt Hardy is set to bring to AEW. Hardy has promised the creation of a character that is incredibly complex and with AEW allowing its talent to wrestle elsewhere, one should expect to see this character, using Vanguard 1 to transport all throughout the wrestling world.

The delete has been freed and Matt Hardy has been re-released in AEW in all his broken brilliance. And that is truly, “WONDERFULLL YESSSSSS!”
