Preview: AEW Rampage Holiday Bash (12/25/21)

AEW Rampage Holiday Bash

AEW Rampage comes at you on a Saturday night with a special Christmas Day edition of everyone’s favorite Friday night wrestling show. All Elite Wrestling has left a lot of gifts under the proverbial wrestling tree as its week-ending show is once again stacked high like the star on a Christmas tree. On this week’s RampageTeam Taz’s “secret weapon” look to amaze once again, after his impressive debut match, against one monstrous competitor. Two of AEW’s best in the women’s division collide as they look to steal the show Saturday night. Plus, one heck of a gift for the AEW loyalists out there as “The American Nightmare” looks to dethrone “The Spanish God” and claim the TNT Championship for the third time. This Christmas edition of Rampage has a lot more in store as AEW is pulling no punches for the most wonderful time of the year. Without further ado, It’s Friday night, and we all know what that means. It’s AEW Rampage Holiday Bash! Let’s run it down.

Hook Bear Bronson AEW Rampage Holiday Edition

“Best Kept Secret” No More

Two weeks ago on RampageHook made his professional wrestling debut, AEW facing off against fan-favorite Fuego Del Sol. From his entrance music to his scowl as he made his way into the ring, it was clear from the git-go that Hook was looking to play no games and only had one thing on his mind; doing business. Hook made short work of the ever-resilient Fuego and choked him out to capture his first win in his first-ever televised wrestling match. The fans of professional wrestling, as well as the internet, were sent into a frenzy after the fact. Hook looked so impressive for somebody who stepped through those ropes for the first time on the main stage. He looked like an absolute killer that fans of the wrestling industry were very much intrigued by the prospect of when we’ll see him in action again.

Well, wonder no more. This Friday night, on a Christmas Day Rampage, Hook is being sent once again to face-off against one-half of the monstrous Bear Country in the form of Bear Bronson. Suffice it to say, Hook will definitely be tested in this upcoming bout. Bear Bronson is one of the most intimidating men in that AEW locker room. Agile like a cruiserweight and strong like a heavyweight, Bronson can hurt an opponent in more ways than one. And, in a manner one least expects. It’s Hook taking on Bear Bronson in what’s sure to be a physical battle. And, it all goes down Christmas Day on TNT!

Christmas Day Crowning?

Cody Rhodes looks to make history as he challenges for the TNT Championship against champion Sammy Guevara. “The American Nightmare” has won this rich prize twice in the past and is looking to be the first and only competitor in AEW to win a championship title, in any division, three separate times. However, Guevara will not let that happen on his watch. “The Spanish God” might be facing one of the best in the world right now. But, Guevara has more than earned the respect of his peers by accomplishing so much in his young career, thus far. Sammy Guevara was the first man to ever beat the Bulgarian mastodon Miro one on one and capture the TNT Championship. Shortly after that monumental victory, he would defend the TNT title in open challenges beating the likes of Bobby Fish and Jay Lethal.

This is quite a Christmas gift for all the wrestling fanatics out there. It’s one of AEW’s premier talents facing off against one of the four pillars of the future for All Elite Wrestling. And, for the TNT Championship, no less. Christmas came just in time. And, it brings possibly one of the best matches we’ll get to see as we say goodbye to 2021. This is for all the marbles and no man is backing down. Will Cody Rhodes fulfill a Christmas miracle and recapture the coveted title once again? Or will Sammy Guevara retain the precious TNT Championship and be on his merry way?
