Fuego Del Sol Set for GCW Debut

What to Know About Masked AEW Star

Hailing from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Fuego Del Sol began making AEW appearances in June of 2020. Del Sol became one of many independent talents the company brought in during the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily for AEW Dark. Early on, he was known for his losing streak, his record reaching 0-34 at one point, as well as his undeniable heart and tenacity. This past August, he faced TNT Champion Miro on AEW Rampage. The stipulation of the match was that if Del Sol won, he would be given an AEW contract. Despite his best efforts, the young luchador failed to best “God’s Favorite Champion.” Following the match, AEW Founder and CEO Tony Khan and Del Sol’s real-life friend, Sammy Guevara, made their entrances. On behalf of Khan, Guevara presented Del Sol with an AEW contract.

Fuego Del Sol started wrestling in 2014. Starting in his home state, Mid South Wrestling Alliance and Imperial Wrestling Revolution were a few of the organizations he worked for. Before making his way to AEW, Del Sol won the IWR Revolutionary Championship, which he held for 196 days.
