Potential Storylines for Heels on Starz Season 2

Heels on Starz

Heels on Starz: The Season Finale Review - Fight Game Media

After some doubt among fans of the show, a second season for the popular Starz pro wrestling drama Heels was officially announced last week. Nearly immediately, this got the wheels turning in everybody’s minds about what storylines the renewal might bring to the table in Heels Season 2.

There were a few loose ends left open when season one ended, which left the door open for a second season. Usually, those announcements come quick and fast after the first slate of episodes is over, so I was personally growing worried about the possibility of a second slate.

But now that it’s confirmed, let’s take a look at some of the directions that the show could take in Season 2.

The feud between DWL and FWD

The ongoing back and forth between the Duffy Wrestling League and the Florida Wrestling Dystopia didn’t even scratch the surface of its potential in season one. There were a few great moments in the final two episodes, but we’d like to see a bit more runtime dedicated to it.

Given how entertaining Charlie Gully is and how the creative leash is very long when it comes to wrestling companies feuding, I think some more great moments can be made in season two.

Crystal is the ‘big dog’ of the Duffy Wrestling League

Season one of Heels On Starz ended with Crystal on top of a ladder in front of 10,000 people, hoisting up the DWL Championship. Crystal had been fighting all season to get her shot and become an in-ring performer for the league, but was denied multiple times.

Crystal’s success has to continue in season two, or else her whole story will risk becoming a waste. I expect her to be the catalyst for other female wrestlers to come into DWL, but there’s no doubt that Jack, Ace, and possibly even Bill Hancock will have something to say about the risk-taker winning the title on her own terms.

Bobby Pin and Diego Cottonmouth become regulars

As announced by Deadline last week, Bobby Pin and Diego Cottonmouth have been pushed up and will become “series regulars” in Season Two, as opposed to being in recurring roles.

It’s hard to say what roles that Cottonmouth will have, but Bobby Pin will probably become a focal point of the show given his history with Crystal and that his leg injury should be healed up soon. Pin will probably become a big star in the Duffy Wrestling League.

Make a choice Jack: The DWL or your family?

Jack Spade is notoriously a piece of garbage when it comes to his family. He constantly lies to them, abandons them to take care of wrestling-related matters, and never spends time with them. His wife, Staci, finally had enough of it and set up a divorce at the end of season one.

Is Jack going to reconcile himself and earn his family back? Or will the success of the DWL’s massive stadium show go to his head and lead him down more of a path that won’t allow him to raise his son the proper way? We’ll have to wait and find out in Heels Season 2.
