Sasha Banks Returns at WWE Extreme Rules During SmackDown Women’s Title Match

Sasha Banks Returns Extreme Rules

At WWE Extreme Rules, the SmackDown Women’s Championship was on the line as titleholder Becky Lynch defended against challenger, as well as former champion, Bianca Belair. The rivalry between these two dates back to SummerSlam last month, when Lynch was the surprise challenger to Belair’s title. “The EST” suffered a tremendous loss on this night, dropping the SmackDown women’s title to “The Man” in less than 30 seconds. The rematch at Extreme Rules would be inconclusive, however, as Sasha Banks made her return, laying out both competitors.

Sasha Banks Makes Return at Extreme Rules

It seemed that Bianca Belair had the match well at hand, setting up Becky Lynch for the KOD. Before the move could be executed, however, a returning Superstar rushed to the ring. Making her return at Extreme Rules was Sasha Banks, who set her sights on Belair. Banks incapacitated Belair with a running knee in the corner. This caught the attention of Lynch, who threw a nervous thumbs up in the direction of her fellow “Horsewomen.” Though it seemed that Banks had formed a new alliance with Lynch, “The Boss” proceeded to attack the SmackDown Women’s Champion as well. Ultimately, this encounter ended with neither Belair nor Lynch standing tall. Rather, it was Sasha Banks that made the biggest statement at Extreme Rules. Banks made her way back up the ramp, making the claim, “I’ll see the two of you this Friday.”

Needless to say, Sasha Banks is back in the hunt for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Earlier this summer, Banks was involved in a feud with Bianca Belair over the title in question. This was set to lead to a title match at SummerSlam between challenger Banks and titleholder Belair. However, due to what was described as “unforeseen circumstances” in the wrestling media, Banks was pulled from the event. As stated earlier, Becky Lynch became the replacement, as well as the new SmackDown Women’s Champion.
