Match Point: Faby Apache vs Deonna Purrazzo, Triplemanía XXIX (8/14/21)

Faby Apache vs Deonna Purrazzo

Match Point is an on-going series at Last Word on Pro Wrestling, where we look at intriguing matchups and beyond. They may be dream matches, first-time matchups, or h0tly anticipated rematches. This edition of Match Point will focus on a first time ever encounter: Faby Apache vs Deonna Purrazzo at Triplemanía XXIX. The winner of this match will walk out with both the IMPACT Knockouts Championship and AAA Reina de Reinas Championship on the line.

Faby Apache vs Deonna Purrazzo – What to Know

Faby Apache regained the AAA Reina de Reinas Championship at AAA Rey de Reyes earlier this year. Taya Valkyrie, now known as Franky Monet in WWE, was the previous champion until she left for greener pastures. This is currently the fourth reign of Faby Apache as AAA Reina de Reinas Champion. Deonna Purrazzo has virtually been unstoppable since recapturing the IMPACT Knockouts Championship last fall for a second time. Apache has been on quite the roll since AAA has returned post COVID last year.

Purrazzo has been defending the Knockouts Championship everywhere from Global Syndicate Wrestling in New Jersey to New Texas Pro Wrestling in the Texas area. Lady Shani stepped up and faced “The Virtuosa” at AAA Verano De Escandalo earlier this summer. Apache going into this Title vs Title Match shows how much faith AAA has in her. The possibility of Apache walking out of Triplemanía XXIX with both the AAA Reina de Reinas & IMPACT Knockouts Championships is very high. It will be interesting to see where these women go next, even beyond Triplemanía.
