Atsushi Onita Launches New Promotion FMW-E

FMW-E

Japanese deathmatch legend Atsushi Onita announced the launch of his new promotion, FMW-E, the E stands for explosions which the promotion will specialize in. Which seems to be a spin-off on his original Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling promotion. Which combined traditional Japanese wrestling with the deathmatch style of wrestling. One that Onita had discovered when working on Terry Funk’s double cross ranch. After an incredible run FMW officially came to a close in 2002, and while there was a revival attempted several tragedies occurred, and eventually that vision was pushed off the face of the earth.  FMW was most known for its pioneering use of explosion-style deathmatches, something that we still see used in professional wrestling today.

Onita has done many explosion deathmatches since FMW’s closure though, mostly having produce shows on WrestleUniverse and ABEMA. He also appeared in the AEW video package to hype up the Exploding Barbwire Deathmatch between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley. FMW-E will specialize in high quality explosion deathmatches most have come to expect from Onita. The first event will be on July fourth at the Yokohama Tsurumi Fruit Market. It will stream worldwide for 1,000 yen which translates to a little over $9.00.
