#AndNEW: Maika & Himeka Win Goddess Of Stardom Championships

Maika & Himeka Goddess Of Stardom Champions

Earlier today Stardom ran Valentine Special Day 2 at Korakuen Hall.  In the main event, the Oedo Tai team of Konami and Bea Priestley defended the championships against Donna Del Mondo’s Maika and Himeka.  In a somewhat surprising finish Maika & Himeka walked away as new champions, ending the Oedo Tai reign after just one defense and keeping a third Priestley title reign under 60 days.

Stardom has made sure that fans know they view Maika & Himeka as two of their future stars in various interviews, and with their relatively strong booking.  This title win ensures that they will have a big match at the Nippon Budokan event, which is exactly the type of show Stardom should be showcasing them on.  At All Star Dream Cinderella they will once again face an Oedo Tai team as Saki Kashima and Natsuko Tora challenged for the titles following this win.

In just over one year since making her Stardom debut, Maika has won three different championships, she is an absolute prodigy in the ring and Stardom hasn’t been shy about ging her titles to showcase her obvious potential.  Himeka debuted back in June and made it to the finals of the 5STAR GP, this is her first title win after three failed attempts over the past few months.
