PNW Indie Star Kevin Knight to Make NJPW Debut at Super J-Cup

Kevin Night NJPW Super J-Cup

Opportunities for many young performers often come out of the unlikeliest of circumstances, and Pacific Northwest wrestler “2 Fly” Jet Knight is the latest recipient of just such an opportunity. The two-year pro and the latest recruit for New Japan Pro Wrestling’s LA Dojo has found himself a last-minute replacement for one of the top rising LA Dojo stars and 2019 NJPW Young Lions Cup winner Karl Fredericks, who has gone down with an injury. Knight – who will be competing under his real name of Kevin Knight – will now be teaming with Ren Narita in tag team action against Bullet Club‘s KENTA and Hikuleo on Saturday night as part of the action for the 2020 NJPW Super J-Cup festivities (in non-tournament action).

Not to be confused with 20-year veteran of the US indies Kevin Knight (who retired in 2017), who also runs New Jersey’s Independent Wrestling Federation (IWF) and is one of the region’s top trainers, this Kevin Knight has been a fixture in the Pacific Northwest territories as Jet Knight, competing for such promotions as DEFY Wrestling, Without A Cause (WAC), Prestige Wrestling, and more since entering the business in 2018. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, he briefly sparred with AEW’s QT Marshall before training at the Buddy Wayne Academy in Everett, Washington. The 6′, 200 lbs Young Lion is now getting the biggest opportunity of his career as he prepares for his New Japan debut at the NJPW Super J-Cup on Saturday night.
