Jacob Fatu and Rich Swann Announced for GCW Slime Season

GCW Slime Season

Earlier today, the first two competitors for GCW Slime Season were announced. This event hosted by Game Changer Wrestling is set to take place on December 5th; this will be the promotion’s debut show in Las Vegas, Nevada. In what is set to be an exciting event, GCW announced its initial competitors for Slime Season: Jacob Fatu and Rich Swann.

Jacob Fatu will be making his first appearance for GCW, in over two years, at Slime Season. The current MLW World Heavyweight Champion last appeared at Joey Janela’s LA Confidential, in December of 2018, where he defeated KTB. Since then, Fatu has become a bigger star on the independent scene. He also became one of the most prominent stars in Major League Wrestling, not only winning the aforementioned championship but aligning himself with CONTRA. Alongside Ikuro Kwon, Simon Gotch, and Josef Samael, Fatu has seen tremendous success in MLW.

Not only is Fatu a world champion, but he is a member of wrestling legacy. He is part of the Anoa’i wrestling family, which consists of The Wild Samoans, The Rock, Rikishi, The Usos, and others. Fatu is the son of Sam Fatu, who wrestling fans may better know as The Tonga Kid. Given his success in MLW and elsewhere, it’s fair to say that Jacob Fatu is among the next members of this historic family to break out as a megastar.

Rich Swann is currently ruling the roost of IMPACT Wrestling. He is in his first reign as IMPACT World Champion, having defeated Eric Young for the title at last month’s Bound for Glory event. Since then, Swann has remained at the top of the promotion. Not only has he locked horns with Young, but Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, and others. Swann may be “outlandish,” but it’s his unique approach that has made him a titleholder in various promotions.

IMPACT isn’t the only place where Swann made his mark, either. During his time in WWE, he became Cruiserweight Champion, which was a title he held for roughly two months. Even before then, he was incredibly successful in Dragon Gate, winning such accolades as the Open the United Gate Championship, which he held alongside current NXT star Johnny Gargano. Slime Season will be Swann’s first GCW event since October of 2019; during this period, he was bested by Alex Zayne at Jimmy Lloyd’s Halloween Frightfest.

GCW Slime Season will take place in Las Vegas Nevada, at 7:00 PM EST, on December 5, 2020.

Tickets for the events can be purchased via Eventbrite. Attendees are expected to wear masks and face coverings. Furthermore, social distancing guidelines will be enforced throughout the event. For those that are unable to attend in person, Slime Season will air live on FITE.tv as well.
