#AndNEW: Darby Allin Becomes TNT Champion At AEW Full Gear

Darby Allin AEW

Darby Allin has finally done it. On Saturday night at AEW‘s Full Gear pay-per-view, Allin defeated Cody Rhodes to win the championship. It was a matter of survival for Allin, who was mostly dominated by Rhodes throughout the match before ultimately rolling him up long enough for the three count. It was an emotional moment afterward, as the new champion was near tears when Rhodes handed him the championship.

With the win, Allin becomes the fourth overall TNT Champion and third man to hold it. He had come close to defeating Rhodes in the past and it was Saturday with the biggest of stakes that he was able to walk out with the grandest win yet.

Unfortunately for Allin, his celebration was short-lived as Team Taz‘s Brian Cage and Ricky Starks came in and attacked both the new and former champion. They attempted to break the arm of Allin before Will Hobbs made the save. Expect Team Taz to be far from done with the new champion. Perhaps one of, if not both, could be Allin’s first challengers for the championship.

Two things will definitely stem from this one. Where does Cody Rhodes go from here and how does the reign of Darby Allin go following his massive win at Full Gear.
