Aleah James Makes NXT UK Debut

Aleah James NXT UK

Rising British star Aleah James made her NXT UK debut on tonight’s edition of the show, losing to ‘The Fashionista’ Jinny in fairly short order.

James had been rumoured to be coming into the brand for a while, stemming from a report courtesy of Inside The Ropes’ Gary Cassidy. It’s worth noting that Gary also reported that another “unnamed, but prominent, talent from the UK indie scene” had also signed with the company. Of course, that name turned out to be Rampage Brown, who was revealed as being arriving with the brand on last week’s show. Other names included in that list were Adam Maxted, Sha Samuels, Molly Spartan, and Gursinder Singh.

Despite only debuting last year, Aleah quickly grew to become one of the UK’s fastest-rising talents, thanks in part to her involvement in the wacky Schadenfreude & Friends events. In her six matches for the promotion thus far, she’s only last once, both times to Chris Brookes. James has since gone on to become part of the promotion’s managerial team, joining Brookes, Kid Lykos, Mark Davis, and Kyle Fletcher in producing England’s new favourite promotion.

There’s no word yet on if Aleah has officially signed with the brand, however, it would certainly benefit both James and NXT UK as a whole greatly. Considering she’s still fairly new into her career, she could use the NXT UK platform to grow her career substantially before she’s even really taken off. Just look at what it’s done so far for the newest addition to the NXT UK women’s division, Aoife Valkyrie. The Woke Queens member only joined the division earlier this year, and has already become a strong contender to challenge for Kay Lee Ray‘s Women’s Championship.
