UWN World Championship Tournament Brackets Announced

UWN World Championship Tournament

Earlier today, the United Wrestling Network announced the brackets for its upcoming UWN World Championship Tournament. A group of eight wrestlers from around the world will compete in four first-round matches in this multi-week, open weight tournament. The men that win their respective matches will move onto the semifinals before the last two competitors meet in the finals. The winner of the tournament will be crowned the inaugural UWN World Champion. The first-round matches are as follows:

Erick Redbeard vs. Watts

Chris Dickinson vs. Peter Avalon

Karl Fredericks vs. Fred Rosser

Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Mike Bennett

To say that the landscape of the UWN World Championship Tournament is unique would be something of an understatement. Despite a number of these men being consistent performers on UWN programming, they are also well-known for their work in other promotions. Case and point, Chris Dickinson, who is considered one of the favorites going into this tournament, has been a relative regular for Game Changer Wrestling, appearing for their various events. Until recently, Davey Boy Smith Jr. was a stalwart for Major League Wrestling, even winning the revived Opera Cup. Peter Avalon may be the most well-known given that he is currently signed with All Elite Wrestling, mostly competing on AEW Dark.

These are just a few examples, but they speak volumes about the landscape of the UWN World Championship Tournament. With such a unique landscape, the title can be anyone’s to take. The tournament is set to take place on UWN Primetime Live soon.
