Matt Makowski Announced for GCW Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3

Matt Makowski Bloodsport 3

Game Changer Wrestling recently announced their final wrestler for the upcoming Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 event. The wrestler in question is none other than Matt Makowski, a seasoned fighter best known for his work in Bellator. He also began to pursue professional wrestling last year. Further information regarding Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 will be detailed below.

When it comes to mixed martial arts, Matt Makowski is nothing short of formidable. His first professional fight took place in 2007, when he defeated Julio Cruz by way of TKO. From there, he picked up victories over the likes of Joe Schilling and Sergio Vinagre, utilizing an array of strikes and submissions to overcome his opponents. Though the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native was adept in MMA, he shifted his focus to professional wrestling later in life.

Makowski began his wrestling training with The Wrestle Factory, which was the training facility of CHIKARA. He wrestled his first official match with the promotion in May of 2019, competing in an Infinity Gauntlet match that was won by Ophidian, one of Makowski’s trainers. From there, Makowski became part of the group known as The Crucible, which also included Ophidian, The Whisper, and Kimber Lee, just to name a few talents. The same year Makowski made his debut, in September, he would make his first appearance for GCW at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 2. At this event, he handily defeated Rory Gulak.

Other promotions Makowski appeared for include, but aren’t limited to, Beyond Wrestling and Pro Wrestling ZERO1 USA Northeast. Whether it was in the lighthearted CHIKARA or any of the grounded independent promotions where he appeared, Makowski was able to make the most of every opportunity. Simply put, he proved to be an example of an individual making the transition from one athletic endeavor to professional wrestling.

As stated earlier, Matt Makowski was successful in his GCW debut. Since the second Bloodsport, however, he has been absent from GCW. Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport 3 should prove to be a big return for the former Bellator fighter. Though Bloodsport matches can only be won by submission or knockout, Makowski’s fighting style is tailor-made for this competitive environment.
