What Went Down At AEW All Out

All Out

The Tragedy of Hangman Adam Page has officially reached its lowest point. At All Elite Wrestling‘s All Out Pay-per-view event Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler defeated Hangman and Kenny Omega to become the new AEW World Tag Team Champions. After a hellacious battle and two spiked piledrivers, Hangman was done for the count. FTR celebrated and continued to mock Page before Omega would come in and drive them off. After months of seemingly goodwill towards Page, Omega, and The Young Bucks it was revealed to all be a ruse. FTR’s true colors shown on Tag Team Appreciation Night when Dax and Cash attacked the Rock N Roll Express with a knee brace, cementing a heel turn. FTR would continue to manipulate Page by exploiting his desire for friendship. Two weeks ago on AEW Dynamite Hangman cost The Bucks a title shot by interfering in the gauntlet match to determine the number one contenders, which was one by FTR. Afterward The Bucks, heartbroken by this betrayal, would officially kick Hangman out of The Elite.

As the Brainbusters inspired pair left to celebrate their win, Omega came into the ring with a wooden chair seemingly intending to hit his tag partner with. It was not to be as Kenny dropped the weapon. However, when Hangman went to lean on Omega, the best bout machine let Page dropped to the floor in the center of the ring. Kenny left to the back and vented his frustrations to the Bucks before offering them an unknown proposition. Kenny mentioned that he needed a “Clean Slate” before leaving the arena. It is very likely that the Cleaner will be making his way to AEW soon.

Earlier on the All Out card we saw the return of the Casino Battle Royal won by the Murderhawk Monster, Lance Archer. The 21-man battle royal winner last eliminated Eddie Kingston to secure the victory. Archer will now receive an AEW World Championship Match at a later date to be determined. Archer previously faced current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley at New Japan Pro Wrestling‘s Wrestle Kingdom 14. Archer defended his IWGP United States Championship against Moxley after Mox was forced to vacate the belt due to Typhoon Hagibis resulting in him unable to travel Japan for the scheduled title defense. Mox would go on to defeat Lance Archer to win back the title in a Texas Death Match. Fellow Casino Battle Royal competitors included: the Lucha Bros, Brian Cage, Darby Allin, Will Hobbs, Shawn Spears, The Butcher & The Blade, Santana & Ortiz, Best Friends, SCU, Sonny Kiss, Jake Hager, Ricky Starks, and the final entrant Matt Sydal. Unfortunately, immediately after making his entrance, Sydal would botch an attempted Shooting Star Press from the top rope. Thankfully it appears no injuries occurred and he was able to finish the match.

Programming note: The September 16th episode of AEW Dynamite will air on September 17th instead due to TNT airing the NBA playoffs. Make sure to set your DVR in order not to miss any of the action!
