On this week’s episode of NXT, Breezango achieved their first taste of gold. Following their victory in their triple threat tag team match at NXT TakeOver: XXX, the team of Tyler Breeze and Fandango earned an opportunity for the NXT Tag Team Championship. The title in question was held by Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel of Imperium, the stable that took shape in NXT UK. After they made NXT proper their home, Aichner and Barthel held the aforementioned championship for over 100 days.

Fast forward to this week’s episode of NXT, where Breezango faced Imperium in the first match of the night. The match started hot, with Breezango attacking the champions in the early going. Much like their tag team matches in the past, Breezango hit hard and fast. This forced Imperium to utilize tandem maneuvers. Whenever Breezango picked up momentum, it seemed like Imperium was quick to cut it off. The match started to wind down when Breeze hit Imperium with superkicks. Breeze followed up by making the tag to Fandango. One top rope leg drop from the dancer later and NXT was christened with new tag team champions.

This NXT Tag Team Championship victory marks the first tag team title won by Breezango. Having been singles competitors for years beforehand, Breeze and Fandango joined forces in 2016. Though they found themselves in title contention on numerous occasions. For example, they faced The Usos at Backlash in 2017. Despite multiple attempts, Breezango struggled to claim gold. However, the comedic antics proved to be the most memorable aspect of Breezango, as they would often find themselves investigating crimes or getting involved in other forms of mischief.
