AEW Announces 8-Team Women’s Tag Team Cup

Women's Tag Team Cup

On Wednesday’s edition of AEW Dynamite, All Elite Wrestling announced plans for a major tournament coming up this summer in the form of the AEW Women’s Tag Team Cup Tournament: The Deadly Draw. Not many details were provided, but a video teased the upcoming tournament that is set to feature 16 women in 8 teams.

The Deadly Draw could imply that the teams will be chosen at random, as AEW hasn’t really got any women’s tag teams outside the Nightmare Sisters (Brandi Rhodes & Allie). Regardless, with so many women in AEW’s women’s division that aren’t getting regular opportunities still on AEW Dynamite this would be a great opportunity to dive deeper into everyone’s characters and really get the whole squad over in one push.
