Eric Young, Rich Swann Return At Slammiversary In World Title Match

Eric Young Rich Swann return

The not so subtle teases seemingly are true, as Eric Young returned at IMPACT Wrestling‘s Slammiversary after the weeks of teases on IMPACT television. But in a turn of events, so did Rich Swann as he was the fourth member of the match before the bigger surprise. Young returned as a surprise fifth member in the IMPACT World Championship main event. He made clear that after winning his first world championship at Slammiversary, he planned to do it again.

Swann was hurt at the Bash at the Brewery 2 in January and had been out of action ever since. This return came almost an hour after he used the crutches to give the effect that he was not going to return tonight. He did note he was going to keep his eyes on the match. Now we seem to know why.

Eric Young was released by the WWE in April after signing there back in 2016. His non-compete clause expired Saturday morning at midnight, along with the rest of the talents like IMPACT’s newest stars, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. In his time with the company, he became an NXT Tag Team Champion as the leader of SAnitY. A lot of his success in wrestling, however, came in IMPACT when it was under the banner of TNA. During his time there, he has a number of titles. Young won two TNA Tag Team Championships, two NWA Tag Team Championships, was the final TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champion alongside ODB, while also winning the Global, King of the Mountain, and Television championship. His greatest accomplishment came in 2014 when he became the TNA World Heavyweight Champion for the only time in his career.

Young has a slew of new opponents to face now that he is back in IMPACT. A match with Eddie Edwards could be the most appealing considering both of their history to be a bit psychotic and crazy when it comes to the ring. Time will tell, but following his return, he should be busy for a while.
