Report: Travis Banks & Ligero Released

The #SpeakingOut movement has rocked Pro Wrestling to its core and from the independents all the way up to the WWE and AEW we are seeing repercussions.  The latest appears to be the releases of NXT UK Superstars Travis Banks and Ligero.

The news on Ligero broke first with PWInsider reporting he had been released,  eagle-eyed fans soon noticed that Ligero’s profile had been removed entirely from wwe.com further adding fuel to the fire.  Pro Wrestling Sheet has since confirmed the news.  Known on the indies as something of a journeyman as El Ligero the masked man had been mostly midcard fodder in NXT UK.

John Pollock has stated that Travis Banks was also released.  Banks’ wwe.com profile was not gone like Ligero’s but it could only be found via a direct search.  This has also been confirmed by Pro Wrestling Sheet.  The former PROGRESS World Champion had a prominent indie run in 2016/7 and had been serving as a trainer for Fight Club: Pro for some time.  His momentum had stalled somewhat in NXT UK although he remained near the top of the card.

WWE has yet to officially confirm these reports and we will be sure to update here if they do.
