Preview: Stardom – Stardom Shining Destiny (6/16/19)

Stardom Shining Destiny

Stardom is back to full strength with the returns of AZMUtami Hayashishita, and Mayu Iwatani as they present a Korakuen Hall show featuring the Queen’s Quest super team of Hayashishita and Momo Watanabe defend their Goddesses Of Stardom Championships and Arisa Hoshiki makes her first defense of her Wonder Of Stardom Championship.  Stardom Shining Destiny is one not to be missed

Leo Onozaki vs Hina

A match between the two Queen’s Quest pin eaters.   Onozaki should win as she is Hina’s senior but Stardom don’t seem too high on Onozaki so anything could happen.  Regardless this will be a fine opener to the show that will probably be forgotten by the time the show finishes.

STARS (Saya Iida, Saki Kashima & Zoe Lucas) vs Tokyo Cyber Squad (Death Yama-San, Ruaka & Bobbi Tyler)

The lower ends of the STARS and TCS totem polls clash in trios action as Zoe Lucas makes her first appearance on this tour.  With Kashima coming off of a loss in a title match she could win this one to heat back up but we may also see Yama-San pick up the win to get back in contention for the High Speed title.

Queen’s Quest (Bea Priestley & AZM) vs STARS (Mayu Iwatani & Starlight Kid)

An interesting pair off as Iwatani faces the current World Of Stardom Champion Priestley.  AZM or Kid are the obvious pin eaters in this one but it will be interesting to see if Stardom continue to pair off Iwatani and Priestley over the coming shows.

Artist Of Stardom: Tokyo Cyber Squad (Hana Kimura, Konami & Jungle Kyona) (c) vs Oedo Tai (Kagetsu, Andras Miyagi & Natsu Sumire)

Hana Kimura takes her hotshot new faction to battle against the faction she betrayed.  There is still bad blood between Kimura and Oedo Tai for her betrayal but in hindsight did she have a point?  Kimura left because Oedo Tai was no longer the faction that he joined and in many fans eyes TCS have become the new lovable collection of outcasts while Oedo Tai is lost in the shuffle somewhat.  The two factions traded wins on the tour leading up to this match but one would think Sumire is taking a loss here.

Goddesses Of Stardom: Queen’s Quest (Utami Hayashishita & Momo Watanabe) vs Oedo Tai (Natsuko Tora & Hazuki)

Watanabe and Hayashihsita are a superteam that felt indestructible before Hayashishita’s injury.  With that injury Hayashishita lost some steam and Watanabe lost the Wonder Of Stardom Championship so the unbeatable superteam now seems much more beatable.  Hazuki and Tora could definitely be the ones to dethrone QQ as the QQ duo have various storyline excuses for dropping the titles but it’s likely that Hayashishita and Watanabe get the win over two fairly well-established performers to reheat themselves.

Wonder Of Stardom Championship: Arisa Hoshiki (c) vs Tam Nakano

Ever since Hoshiki came back Nakano has not liked her one bit.  Every member of STARS has welcomed Hoshiki to the group with open arms while Tam has been a bit more hesitant.  It only makes sense that Tam would want to be the one to take Arisa’s new belt away.  The two STARS members will clash in what could end up being a bitter affair when Nakano gets her hands on Hoshiki.
