Gursinder Singh Requests Release from IMPACT Wrestling

On Wednesday morning, IMPACT star and Desi Hit Squad member Gursinder Singh announced that he had requested his release from IMPACT Wrestling. Gursinder has not appeared on IMPACT since October of last year, after seemingly being ousted from Desi Hit Squad in match from Mexico against fellow Hit Squad member Rohit Raju.

Originally from West Sussex, England, he moved to Canada in 2015 to train with Lance Storm in Calgary, Alberta, making his debut in the Western Canadian indies that year as Tony Cage, working with Prairie Wrestling Alliance (PWA), Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW) and High Impact Wrestling (HIW).

In 2017, he headed to the Ontario scene, relocating to Toronto, where he began to work for Smash Wrestling, Destiny Wrestling, and Border City Wrestling, where he caught the eye of IMPACT’s Scott D’Amore. He signed with IMPACT and was repackaged as Gursinder Singh and joined the new Gama Singh led Desi Hit Squad. Following his apparent dismissal from the Desi Hit Squad, he was replaced by Raj Singh, another Canadian indie wrestler who wrestled as Gama Singh Jr. on the indies (he’s the real life son of Gama Singh and the cousin of WWE Superstar Jinder Mahal). Gursinder’s release request comes a day removed from a report that IMPACT was bringing back former Indian star Mahabali Shera to the company.
