Two Southern Indie Wrestlers Heading to WWE Tryouts

WWE Tryouts

Face 2 Face Wrestling, the Georgia-based wrestling school, and indie promotion owned by WWE Superstar Heath Slater and WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long, announced earlier this month that they had facilitated WWE Tryouts for two of its workers, revealing that Joey Lynch and Lizzie Fortner were heading to the WWE for tryouts this month.

Originally from Tennessee, Lizzie Fortner has been working with Face 2 Face for a year or so now. Not much is known of her career as of yet, but the young athlete has impressed well enough to earn herself a WWE Tryout at the next round.

Joey Lynch

The more well known of the pair, Joey Lynch is a 32-year old 17-year veteran of the Southern indies. A standout with Atlanta’s Empire Wrestling Entertainment for years until the company’s demise, he’s more recently been a regular with the likes of ACTION Wrestling (Georgia), Next Generation Wrestling (Tennessee), Anarchy Wrestling (Georgia), Southern Underground Pro (Nashville) and more. Last year he won the Scenic City Invitational Tournament, and in June, worked an enhancement match for the WWE on 205 Live against Akira Tozawa, under the name Steve Irby.
