It was recently announced by a few wrestling websites that Lucha Underground‘s Melissa Santos was headed to IMPACT Wrestling. We first announced the news back in November of 2018 (after Santos mentioned it on a Women’s Wrestling Weekly interview). It was confirmed from IMPACT Wrestling talent Jordynne Grace‘s Instagram account along with Melissa SantosInstagramam account, that she is currently at the current set of the tapings from Fronton, Mexico interviewing Grace and Keira Hogan.
Melissa Santos is best known for being the announcer for Lucha Underground since the shows inception. With the ground breaking production the show brings along with the cutting edge wrestling it offers, its safe to say that the announcing also brought an edginess to the product. Bringing in much charisma to the announcing position, Melissa Santos worked her way into a more involved role with the company.

During the last couple of seasons of Lucha Underground, we saw Santos slowly getting involved with storylines with Fenix and Catrina. In Ultima Lucha Tres, we would see her team up with Fenix and essentially making her Lucha Underground in ring debut. In season four of Lucha Underground, she tried bringing Fenix back to his good ways after a match which left him for dead against Mil Muertes. Catrina wound up taking Fenix’s soul and was finally brought back to life. Through the season, we would see tensions flare between Santos and Catrina until the pivotal moment came when we saw Santos and Catrina in what was ultimately the final confrontation between the two warriors.
Santos would come out the victor and we would see the end of Catrina from the world of Lucha Underground. Since the season, Melissa Santos has been making Indy appearances here and there. Most recently however, the mother of a beautiful baby girl became engaged to her long time boy friend, IMPACT Wrestling talent, “The Machine” Brian Cage. With IMPACT Wrestling now making the move to Pursuit and Twitch.tv, and making a change to its announcing team, it will be interesting to see what else is in the works for Melissa Santos.
